Of course you should, at the very least remind folks every now and then of the most common uses of acronyms that clash with Eve's, when they're used on the same subject matter, in this case ship classes or types.
My bad, maybe I'm just a freak who's lucky enough to be able to keep the game and RL vocabulary separate. |

I'm sure you are one, but were you aware that "Battleship" is a term used outside Eve? Alongside Cruiser, Destroyer, Frigate, Battlecruiser and so on? And are you further aware that they designate classes of vessels, much like they do in Eve! Amazing coincidence, isn't it? This "vocabulary" isn't limited to RL either, but used in a variety of games. |

Best DPS Frigate in 0.0 is anything fitted with a Cyno.

Are you aware of the fact that the original names aren't the issue here but the acronyms/abbreviations that are part of the Eve slang/lingo? (<- and this is an important part, don't ignore it) It is kinda irrelevant what other games' players call them or how they are abbreviated in RL when a specific group adopted specific terms to those for their own use. Sudden edit: Ballistic missile submarines are called bombers by the brits. Boomers by the US Navy. Is any of them wrong? |

Another tip for maximizing dps:
Burst Aerator II >> Collision Accelerator II
G-Delta hardwirings are also usually a bit better than CX.

Are you such a fanatic that Eve is the only game you play? If so, you have my pity. |

Mi a faszom?! Your logic scares me. o.O No, really, how in the blazing hells did you deduce that? Eve is not the only, and by far not the most played game by me - and that's quite irrelevant here. I can't even see how would my tolerance towards the different groups' lingo make me a fanatic... radical maybe. I'm sure you heard this: when in Rome, do as the Romans do. In Eve, battleships are BS and daredevils are DD, so when I'm talking to Eve players about them or on the EVE forums, I'll call them BS and DD respectively (when feeling lazy). Simple, isn't? I could go against the current but that would only cause confusion. Most of the time, anyway. When talking to someone who does not play Eve I won't abbreviate of course. If I'd be in the navy or talking to someone about the RL navies then I'd use the appropriate abbreviations/terms accepted there. You see the difference, right? Or should I correct everyone here in my country just because hand pallets are called "frogs"? "You're doing it wrong, frogs are animals, stop eeet!" Puh-lease... |

Oh it's *simple* alright, as in you regarding the community as simpletons. It does nothing to combat ignorance. Going against the current in this manner is the only way to live, because it makes for a richer world for everyone. Even if it was a byproduct of your fight to keep people ignorant, you've made this thread slightly more informative by including boomers/bombers and frogs in it, although it'd be better if they were on topic of course. Hand pallets don't have much of a connection with Eve, but ship designations do. They're also part of a body of knowledge any player of tactical and/or strategic games should acquire over the years. The sooner the better. |

Nah, I just have better things to do than repeat myself when it's clear you just try to annoy me. At least I doubt at this point that you're _this_ stupid. :) (and besides we achieved a minor thread derail, so we both win :p) |
