hi, long time toon thats considering coming back after 3 years playing pvp but I think im weary of that atm and would like to try getting into trade or research etc.

Are these viable options in EVE or are these areas over subscribed?

The margins are so low that it isn't worth it anymore.

Now get back to ratting and selling your loot to me at half of Jita price like all the other good sheep are doing.

I have a buddy who plays and he banks as a trader. Multi-bil in liquid assets and a few multi-bil in buy orders, etc.

Wrong section but anyway..... Honestly it's up to how much effort you want to put into it. Everyones looking for a quick buck but if your patient and do your "research" on what to trade and research there's big money to be made. Stay outta jita though....that's just a waste imho

Two kinds of trade you can do, the 0.01 isk wars at market hubs (day traiding) and the movement of goods from one hub to another.
Both can be done for decent profits if you do your research.

Join some 0.0 alliance and ferry goods into their systems, you'll make a pretty good profit without much trouble.
