There are alot of titans and supercarriers ingame. Even Sansha has supercarrier. May be it is time to introduce something bigger? Worth and big like 10 titans. |

No no A THOUSAND TIMES NO!
These things rival the Super Star Destroyers. Possibly the biggest ships in the Sci-Fi Pantheon. (excluding anime) This game is already too much about blob warfare, introducing something bigger would be the worst possible thing they could do right now.
They need to work on forcing manuver warfare and squad based tactics. (We want formations!) |

Outposts with guns and thrusters? Anyway I think CCP should balance the current ships first... |

Edited by: Amerilia on 15/05/2010 20:31:06 when motherships were renamed to supercarriers, it was hinted in the devblog that the name would be later reused for real motherships. shortly thereafter a chronicle about a gigantic ship with its own FTL drive(not just warp, to bridge space between solar system) came out.. just saying |

I searched through them but couldnt find it, maybe someone else still remembers though. The descriptions of the ship were very vague in it though. http://www.eveonline.com/background/potw/default.asp?cid=19-10-09 I think it could have been this one. Sorry but I dont have much time on hand and could only search for keywords, so may be the wrong one. Just checked the comments, yes it appears to be the right one. |

Yes planetships, piloted by furries with no grasp of technology. Why not, it worked wonders for Andromeda... |

We already have a metagame ship thats even bigger than 10 titans. Its called a capital blob and only one person really flys it even if the other individuals at the controls do the button pushing. |

honestly what i'd like to see introduced is a true battleship, capital sized perhaps but with multiple high rows, say 2 x-larges 6 larges 6 mediums and 6 small weapons on seperate powergrids to restrict sizes and or something of that nature, i just love the idea of 1 ship that can warp in and be able to truely dominate a field of battle with enough micro managing. |

"How do we know when it's too big?"
"Can you see it from many lightyears away in an adjacent starsystem?"
"Yes!"
"Then it's not big enough. Keep building." |

No.
Only thing to add is Outposts should have a Battlestation class. With armaments similar to a POS.
That is all. |

Mobile battle stations do seem like a viable direction. We just have to ensure that a group of teenagers in star fighters can't shoot a couple of torpedo's in to an exhaust port to blow it up. |

Problem is that ISK is still generated in-game faster than it's consumed. The result is that if you introduce a larger ship "super titan" then one day you'll look up and see these tech II / faction super titans bumping into each other all over 0.0. Someone will pipe up and say "time to introduce a new bigger ship!" Nope, the trick isn't to add more giant ships. The trick is to make the current ones more rare. I think that it should cost to maintain a titan. Just enough so that no large 0.0 alliance can support more than a few at a time. That would keep them rare and "special." Without something like this everyone will eventually have one. |

even if isk was an issue we'd still see a significant number of titans or any other ship, the only way to truly limit a ship class is to produce limited amounts (I.E. tourny ships). |

You got it backwards: the problem isn't the isk but the resource. If you make a "harvestable" resource, of which only a limited amount spawns throughout new-eden, then you can use that resource to limit the number of X-superbigships. If enough spawns each month to sustain the build of 5 of them, it will be one very pricy resource but you will get a max of 5/month new titans. Atm, you just need to mine more trit. |
