Hey guys...

Might be a REALLY dumb question, but I have been building some Proteus fits in EFT as sort of a solo all-in-one cloaky exploration ship.. an upgrade from the Pilgrim I fly now.

And every time I finish the fit, with the cov-ops reconfiguration on, I'm getting 0m3 for drone space. Also, when I look up fits for the drone boat Proteus on battle clinic and such, they have the Cov reconfiguration WITH also drones...

Is EFT wrong? will I have a drone bay even if I don't select the drone offensive subsystem? If so, how big is the drone bay without the offensive subsystem for it? Thanks

There's a engineering subsystem with drones, I think it's the Augmented Capacitor Reservoir... That's probably not the right one, but one of them definitely has drones.

Oh wow, totally missed that. I guess I just figured drone damage bonus's would only be linked to offensive subsystems, hah. Thanks! Smile

If you take a look at the augmented capacitor reservoir enineering subsystem, you'll notice it's almost always inferior to the capacitor regeneration matrix on all four T3 ships. It's only advantage is that it makes it harder to neut out a T3 ship, which therefore makes it pretty awesome for PvP. However, all the augmented capacitor reservoir subsystems tend to either give extra drone bandwidth/capacity, or an extra turret and high slot(or hardpoint for caldari). It basically cuts the crap with cap-stability to give you an extra edge on damage in PvP, and a little neut resistance, in exchange for being pretty terrible in terms of cap-stability and other benefits.

tldr; Augmented Capacitor Reservoir: **** for PvE, extra damage in PvP.

Loki doesn't look to have any non-offensive subs that give drone bay capacity. Sad

same goes for tengu.

They really need to allowed some type of drone usage on the other T3s with a covert config, AT LEAST 10 bandwidth.

I don't mean to be rude Sir, but that is utterly incorrect. Perhaps *you* should actually take a look at the Gallente Augmented Cap Reservoir subsystem, specifically as the OP will be flying a Proteus, rather than assuming they're all giving the same subsystem bonuses for cap regeneration.

It's radically different to the other races as the subsystem bonuses have nothing to do with cap regeneration Wink

To be honest, the Gallente got the best of bunch in this subsystem. You're right though, it is awesome for PVP... just not how you think Smile

The Loki's cap reserve sub is, for want of a more emotive term, crap. The regen one gives 2100 extra cap and a -25% recharge rate. The capacitor reserve gives 1225 extra cap and a 25% capacitor bonus. Even with maxed subsystem skills that means the regen one has a higher amount of base capacitor than the reserve one does, until you put more than 3 Large Capacitor Battery II's on it. Which is a horrible idea anyway.

The reserve also gives you one less mid slot, but a bit more grid and one extra turret and launcher slot.

I really don't know what use the reserve sub was meant to be on a Loki. Maybe a comedy killmail option?
