I'm getting to the point now where I'm building enough crap where it would be wonderful if I could strike up a deal with a mining corp to dump some minerals on me probably weekly. Some questions for anyone out there who has a contract with a mineral corporation like the one I'm needing or are a mineral corp who does this kind of supply:

1. What's the typical price? At, above, below Jita?

2. Do they haul? What's the discount if I haul it myself?

3. How consistant are they?

4. How is a deal like this handled? Contract weekly at -% below Jita at the time contract is made? That about right?

My problem is I'm starting to produce enough that I'm going through a freighter or so of mins per week. Putting up a local buy order that ranges over 6 systems doesn't consistantly bring in the minerals fast enough to keep my lines producing. Increasing the range would more than double the time I spend picking everything up, which I really would like to avoid.

How are other producers (without their own miners) handling this issue? I know I could go buy all my mins in Jita, but that would destroy my margins, so is really not the direction I'd like to go.

If I'm not mistaken, there is a whole channel dedicated to people wanting to buy things where they can post want ads. I hear people that have stuff to sell will respond, and then you can negotiate terms with whomever may have what you need.

What minerals are you needing? Include weekly expected quantities if you can. Don't know if I can help you out or not.

If its hauled to you, you will pay a little more. Time is money so if you haul it yourself, the discount depends on the individual.

Consistancy depends on quantities and what it is. If you have to crack a moon to get them....should be fairly stable depending on reaction times to produce. Somedays are better than others depending on the mining operation.

Do you have a station warehouse for drop off? Do you order more than you need to have a stockpile to work from in case resources are thin certain weeks? Have you contracted a corp to haul for you and another for minerals?

Usually you are 5 to 10 % under Jita prices going direct to a mining company. That percentage can go up depending on quantity you purchase.

In the past I generally negotiated the price, some suppliers do have firm price, some give discounts on quantities, but if you make a post in the Want Boards, you should have 10-15people message you within 2-3 days. I have met very inconsistent suppliers but also have delt with some A+ ones that would deliver the same day it was ordered.

Normally the way I delt with them was send an evemail with the order / amount, check individual prices and confirm. They would deliver it or I pick up the contract, it really is on what your needs are.

My suggestion, talk to some suppliers, figure out what works best for you and do it.

Most big industrialists go for a reliable supply of minerals bought at a hub. The biggest and most prolific go for buy orders in Jita. I know at first it can seem painful to pay a little extra ISK per unit, but the guaranteed volume of minerals is worth it. It will allow you to save the time you would have spent micromanaging orders and picking up the minerals up from 30 different stations. It will also allow you to plan more a more efficient operation. At some point you will be able to generate even more production volume, because you won't ever have any empty factory slots waiting for building materials. The secret to getting rich is volume.

If you need freighter services for your minerals or for moving your products to market, Red Frog Freight can help.

Thanks for all the replies. Sounds pretty much as I expected, so will be putting up a WTB soon.
