those arent people, they are cyno alts.

CCP encourages people to run multiple accounts to inflate their subscription numbers.

Fight the power and dont give in! Alts are the devils work and anyone who uses them is a filthy nub!

Its the 10 minute timer that has people worked up about cynos tbh. The basic cyno alt logs on, lights cyno, (ship jumps to it), cyno alt logs off. People dont want to have to 'babbysit' their cyno pilot for 10 minutes until the timer counts down..

Thus, I propose that cyno time be halved, so its only 5 minutes. This will encourage more use of recon ships as cyno pilots. 2.5 minutes isnt a horrible time to sit and wait.. Besides, recon ships are usually capable of fending off attackers, especially if they have cap support.
Sure, cyno alts will still log on and log off, theres nothing to stop that. But those that fly recons might be more useful in the cyno role.. Ah hell, who am I kidding.

T2 mining frigates - 15% reduction in cyno time per level, 200% hitpoints per level. Make em cheap Laughing (only one highslot though Twisted Evil)

(either that, or increase the bonus a recon ship gets to about 80% or so.. )

All you need is to allow early deactivation on cynos.

Allow those that train cyno 5 to be able to use a special cyno mod that is half that of the normal 10 min timer........like the covert cyno mod but for normal capital use......like the recons but just a mod......and make it cheaper than the 2 million for the cyno frig and cyno mod......wait n/m we will just keep using our cyno alts.

We don't need faster cyno'ing, we already have recons for that (if you don't feel like wasting 150m isk, put up with the 10 min cyno).

This is a really pointless idea.

Yeah because a nub cyno alt character + ship are soooooo much of a hit to your wallet if they get popped.. Also if your corp is going to need a cyno for its hundredish billion in fitted cap ship fleet then they can sure as **** replace the recon pilots ship and pod out of pocket change if it gets popped.

Actually if you have cyno V cyno only last for like 5 minutes. So dropping timer to half would not help anything. Even 10 seconds is too much.

Cynosural fields are stupid game mechanic.

Furthermore fact that you can magically summon like what 20 battleships/carriers/whatever anywhere with any ship is even more dumb than cyno ship being stuck for 10 minutes.

All of this encourages so called "blobbing" style of gameplay and using alts.

I am pretty sure it won't change soon.

the cyno skill i am pretty sure makes you use less fuel NOT reduce the time although i havn't been the cyno pilot since i left 0.0 like year and a half ago when AGGRESSION collapsed

yarr 2.5 minute recon cynos Twisted Evil

I just hope the cov cyno was built around this (it was intended to be short.. right? a minute or so?) but this seriously might give reason to train up cyno activation past 1. Maybe to like 3.. :p
