Been thinking of ways to spice up corp life a bit. so a couple of my fellow corp mates and I put our heads toghter to come up with a fun distraction from all the usual.
Take a look and tell me what you think. also the spelling and grammer is probably really bad. sorry about that.

Two Teams Red and Blue.
• Red Team has the Spirits, Blue team has the Steppers.
• Each team will have a "home base" at opposite end a region. We will have corp offices there, the Spirits and stripers will be in their respective corp offices.
• Each team will start out in their home base and have to cross the region, dock up in the enemies home base, and retrieve the spirits/stripers from the enemies corp hanger division, then return them to their own home base and place the "flag" in their corp hanger. Do this twice to earn 2 points and your team wins.
• Each ships name must begin with BLUE or RED, in all caps, depending on what team they are in. The rest is up to the pilot.
• During the game you can only dock at your home base or your opponents to get the "flag."
• You may only repair your ship, get more ammo, get more drones, or refit your ship at your own home base. ( Using Remote repairers, logistics drones, and trading ammo from ship to ships is highly encouraged)
• All other station are off limits while the game is on.
• There will be two toons working as referees, one at each stations their job will be to double check ship fitting and certify they are acceptable.
• The Referees will also announce when the flag is taken from either base and when a team scores a point.
• Also the referees will keep track of who is on time out, and when their time out ends.
• Communication of when an flag is taken and who is on time out will be posted on a special CTF chat channel.
• Hand offs via, jet cans, are allowed… However if an attempted hand off goes bad and your opponent destroys the can before you can get the flag into your hold, you must call it out, so another flag can be placed back into play

Now for the rated "R" part, this is going to be a full combat game.
• Pilots will be allowed to use T1 frigs with meta 2 and lower modules. Modules will be given out by Nightweave. You may stop your opponent by any means. Once the ship caring the flag is destroyed a new flag will be added to the respective corp hanger. Which then must be retrieved all over again.
• Any opponents ship is fair game no matter where they are or whether they have the flag or not. Gate camps, station camps are all legal.
• Once a player looses a ship they will have to return to their home base to get another ship which will be checked by the station referee before entering the game field.
• The first team to get two points (get two spirits or two stripers back to their home base) will be declared the winner.
• Only one spirits, and one striper will be in play at any given time.
• Each station will have the widest possible supply of T1 frigs and Meta 2 or lower fittings possible. Each player can pick and choose from that pool to fit their ships however they like. Once a ship is lost return to base to fit another one.
• Refitting is encouraged but must be done at your home base, and modules may not be carried in the hold of any ship. Only ammo and the flag may be carried in the hold.
• All surviving ships and fitting must be turned back over to Nightweave upon completion of the game

Now the Breaks,
This game is not completely without rules.
• Must use T1 frigs only
• No AOE (area of effect) modules.
• No faction or T2 modules of any kind. (meta 2 and lower modules only)
• No faction or T2 ammo
• No faction or T2 ships
• No faction or T2 Drones
• No rigs
• If a player takes the his own teams flag they will be put on time out.
• No one will be permitted to leave the region while they are actively playing the game. If any member is caught outside the region they will be put on a penalty time out for a minimum of 5 minutes from the time they get back to their base. During this time, they cannot engage any other player, help or other wise, nor can they be attacked. If a person on a time out is attacked the attacker will be put on time out also. If either parties refuse to follow the rules and continue the engagement they will be booted from the game for the day. Also if there are repeat offenders they will be booted from the game for the day.

Cheating will not be tolerated,
• NO PODDING, if you pod anyone in the game I will kick you out of Nightweave very.. Very… very fast.
• You may NOT use an alt to transport the flag.
• You many NOT in any way get assistance from anyone other than your team mates.
• Any of the above actions will be considered cheating and could get you booted from the game, possibly Nightweave all together.

This sounds like a great idea and could be great fun. However I do see some serious issues when it comes to enforcing the rules you have set up. You'd nearly need a GM-account to be able to prevent people from cheating or at least breaking the rules. I mean, how are you gonna prevent people from using neutral alts? Or docking at other stations? You can only keep a very limited eye on what people are doing (even if you force them to join your corp) so I think that will be the main source of problems.

Maybe make the rules less complex and easier (for you and your referees) to enforce.

Or do everything on SiSi so there are less people around (which makes it easier to ensure that people are not breaking the rules).

Good idea though. Wink

Or, you could play a game of can-ball!

Here's how it works:

Two teams, preferably all players are in the same corp, as this makes interaction a lot easier.

Each team has a number of frigates equipped with tractor beams, energy neutralizers, ECM and so on.

The field is a stretch of approximately 50km with "goalposts" at either end. The object of the game is to tractor the "can-ball" through your goalpost.

Tweak the rules as you see fit, maybe allow only certain team members to tractor, disallow ECM or something else that suits you.

Have fun!

This sounds way more fun.

Feel free to discuss this and anyother ideas of player corp games. this was a recent brain storm and it got more and more complicated as things went on. For a lot of the rules we plan on using the the corp management window. The informations isn't updated fast enough to be full proof but should be good enough to make it interesting.

Thanks for the ideas, feel free to discuss a way. i am always looking for ways to make Eve more interesting using the game mechanics provided. :)

As long as all players are in same corp, and fleet, the judge can see if people are docked and what they fly, both in fleet window and corp window.

very cool thread.

Both ideas sound great but I think the first would be such a nightmare to manage and referee. The second idea sounds awesome.

Heh heh Julius has sort of taken over Jade's thread with this brilliant tractor-can game. The difference is the scale- and that nobody dies in tractor-can.

I think capture-the-flag (CTF) has great potential. Maybe it could be easier to implement in a constellation, or even one system.

Something in between, possibly a 2-4 system CTF could be ideal, and begs to be played.

I suppose can-ball could be played with guns, but it would make things more complicated. I like to follow the KISS principle when making concepts like this. Although the can-ball concept is not my invention, I simply heard of it from someone claiming they had seen the sport in nullsec, and made up my own idea of what it should be like. Very Happy
