Hey all,

I'm pretty much maxed out in exploration where I'm comfortable I can clear any profession site with ease, and I've basically made my self self-sufficient doing this. I just want some new variety in the way I play EVE and was giving industry a thought.

I'm currently training to get into a Hulk and wanted to get some mining skills under my belt before I go into the manufacturing aspect of industry, what I'm asking is basically for some pointers.

I've found some loose guides for industry but they seem split down the middle, either they are guides just scratching the surface of manufacturing or they are guides all about mining. I just was wondering if someone could give me a list of skills I'd need to be a self sufficient industrialist that would mine my own minerals to do some t1 manufacturing.

I have industry itself to V and am currently training mining to V, what skills would I need to be a basic well rounded t1, self sufficient miner/manufacturer?... Thanks =]

(I'm kind of taking Industry up as a side profession to make some isk in a passive sort of way. I'm serious about it, but don't plan on devoting my entire character to the industrial aspect of EVE. He's an explorer first and fore-most, this is a side thing.)

Production Efficiency 5
Adv Mass Production 4+
Adv Lab Operation 4+

From there it's all about you.

It's all about your ability to find a market, define your niche, and that doesn't mean "this product is best profit margin"

The T1 market is a tough one to turn a profit from, but it is possible.

In terms of skills for Production you will want:

Mass Production V - Must Have
Advanced Mass Production IV - Desirable
Production Efficiency V - Must Have
Supply Chain Management IV- Desirable

Don't make the mistake however that the minerals you mine are FREE, they are not... you don't go to work everyday and work for nothing!!

Mining skills read Halada's guide to mining, its a one stop shop. If your building efficiently your appetite for minerals won't be met by what you can mine. A read of the Quarterly Economic Reports from DrEnyo are recommended reading too.

If you need more advice look me up in-game for a chat.

And good luck!!

Being able to create t1 modules/ships is nice and all but it's really all about t2 production, trade, being able to fuel a pos and logistics.

2 alts with the required skills for t2 invention/production can CLEAR 2b a month profit with a high-sec pos, pos fuel delivery services and a bunch of trade skills in order to set up buy orders for minerals. This means you don't need to mine for them or worry about any kind of manual labor for the alts. Just login to those alts before you login to your main, deal with any logistics/moving bpc's/moving minerals from the station to the equipment arrays.

You need 1 large pos. 2 labs, 2 advanced labs, 4 equipment assembly arrays, 1 component assembly array.
A bunch of guns/ecm to scare away the idiots.

Several bpo's you wish to build against - you'll need 5 or 6 bpo's for a particular module. Build modules not ships.

Somewhere around 1b in seed money for the t2 production materials, pos fuel and datacores is probably a good amount for running for about a month.

Get familiar with the XN7 website - really awesome for working out potential modules to build in your regional market.

The catch is you need to login every day to do the invention/manufacturing.

Each manufacturing job lasts around 20 hours or less for a 10 run t2 bpc made from invention.

Invention itself is pretty quick - usually around an hour - but then you need to make a LOT of copies of the t1 bpo. The other thing you need to make sure of is your RAM Tech is made and your t1 versions are made (you need these as a manufacturing component and they take a while to make sometimes).

If you can be mining in 0.0 on your main and do this as well on 2 alts. You can clear many billions per month.

Emjoy.
