As everyone knows the DUST 514 eve integration will be coming out eventually. This will be highly integrated with EVE. To summarize... Eve corps/alliances will be able to hire DUST mercenaries to attack/defend planets. For more details go to THIS LINK.

But the big question is, will this be a good thing? DUST 514 is supposed to be released for PS3 and XBOX 360 only. The thing that worries me is I don't want a bunch of immature CALL OF DUTY gamers playing DUST 514 and ruining the potential it has. Not all console FPS players are like this but I'm sure the majority of them will be wrecking the game in some way. Of course I don't know how much control they will have over alliance battles and such. Maybe they will just join a merc company and get sent into battle not really knowing who or what they are fighting for. I think the game should be released for computers only at first because I believe a higher number of pc gamers are more mature, older, and would work with the concept better.

Send me some feedback.

Although if it is a MMO. That might call for some more mature, dedicated players?

well, you could always do a bit of reasearch before you go and hire some dust mercs, like for example if a COD clan with a very good k-d ratio that is advertizing its services in DUST for eve players would generally be a bit better then just a random group of people that dont know each other.

and anyway, who says you have to talk to them? just send em a message that would they please fight on this planet, at this time. for me, it doesnt really matter if they are mature as long as they know how to pull the trigger, and dont go on teamkilling sprees to often

First you don't know wether DUST will be ps3 or 360 or both, that is undisclosed/undecided at this point.

Second, I wouldn't worry about wether there will be any COD style players in DUST, it is just not your concern as an eve player. Your interaction with them is probably going to be less direct than them (DUST players) among each other. All FPS games will always have a certain percentage kids, depending on how popular the game is that will be more, and PC games often are full of *******s and immature players so be happy it's not a PC game.

The only thing you can hope for is that there is a reward setting method that allows you to support grouping and making clans (i.e. set out a contract/reward for taking x territory in your name, y credits for each soldier in a mercenary corp, z credits for any independent mercenary).

In the end it's all speculation at this point so don't think about it man.

Even in clans, though, it also depends on the player's skill and experience, at least in my opinion. You could get a little immature fart knocking kid with amazing FPS skills or a very mature player with terrible FPS skills. That's the way it is with all games, actually.

Looking at matching in other FPS games I would suspect matches would be set up as team deathmatch or objective capture matches. Although it will probably be possible to hire specific merc outfits or have the inevitable alliance/corp Dust squad defend or attack for you it will also be really likely that once a planetary "lobby" is opened in Dust via whatever manner it interacts with EVE it will be possible for people Dust-side to pug into the game if there are open slots. This could be accomplished via the attacker/defender setting up a certain isk bank allocated to any hostile actions, probably with some sort of rating system in place where the payer determines what "rank" of Dust merc he finds acceptable to fight in his game. That would allow you to keep the scrubs out of your conflict, but allow you to mount a defense/attack without super micromanaging things EVE-side. I'm sure the predictable ridiculous overcrowding of planets in highsec will provide plenty of games for the low rank/beginning/scrub mercs while the big alliances of nullsec will be able to buy high ranked players. If there is a serious isk component to it where Dust players will be buying upgrades with isk earned fighting EVE player's battles the high rank/serious players will quickly pull so far ahead of the punks that the community will probably stratify with the well connected/supplied pros quickly dominating any conflict with low rank pugs. The noobs and scrubs will be fighting each other and from that churning the better players will rise up into the big show with serious players clashing with a clear strategy and knowledge of why they're fighting from the EVE perspective.

Biggest , mistake ccp made with Dust 514 is not making it for pc also.

These is not a matter of kids getting to play it or not. As the above dude said as long as they do not soot the team mates / fire in right direction its all good.

Problem I see is 0.0 alliance players buying PS3 / XBox and making their own armies.

You then need to somehow defend against that and only way to do it is buy PS3 / XBox.

A "move" like these should be illegal from several points of view.

Or Put it like these: by chance Every eve player in AAA alliance owns a PS3 / XBox and buys Dust 514. And by total chance lets say no eve player in Atlas alliance owns a PS3 / XBox. And by total chance one day AAA invades Atlas. Now how would Atlas defend against the ground invasions from AAA?? Do they have to go buy PS3 / XBox and buy Dust 514 to be able to hold ther planets??........
NOTE: Alliance names were chosen by random.

What I'm saying is that these is turning into a situation where a software will require the buy of another (and in these case the buy of a piece of hardware also) in order to work... Now I'm no law expert but think there was a law about it I dunno maybe I do not see the light on these matter...

Simple fix would be making Dust 514 work for PC's. These will help eve players get account that they can possibly pay with gtc's and keep things running where they need to.

Thats my thought on these matter will have to wait and see thou how hard would Dust 514 will actually hit eve in the nuts.
