Been planning certain evil and ruthless ways to make ISK, and suicide ganking is one of them. Anyway, I wonder would following thing be possible...

Let's take gang of 10 happy gankers. They all are well skilled pilots to fly Brutix. Idea is simple, go into major mission hub. Have fleet of freighters to move tons of cheap Brutixes and fittings there.

Keep them fitted for action. So basically, would it be possible to undock after mission runner and absolutely annihilate it before it can eather turn on hardeners and shield boosters or dock up again? You would have eyes outside station, informing about undocking ship.

What do you think?

IMHO the timer that prevents you to dock up straight away and the amount of DPS that 10 Brutix is enough to kill the marauder or faction battleship with couple volleys.

It would of course need perfect timing and good co-operation skills from everyone.

Ten of those would have time to throw out three volleys before Concord (IIRC) and it would mean around 33000 damage. Is it enough?

Also I have been scanning marauders and faction battleships in mission hubs for few weeks now and over 75% of them are fitted with faction or better modules.

You could also go forward and sell mission rights to people! And I am sure that there is tons of massive manufacturers who would love to keep you feeded with brutixes that you can 'suicide'.

EDIT: fixed typos

We have also discussed about Jita... To have scanners outside 4-4, to scan undocking freighters and jump freighters. And use megathrons or tempests to gank them with same way. Just undock and gank.

Yes you would need looters to be ready, there are tons of vulchers outside Jita 4-4 for example.

3 problems with this:

1. Most mission hubs are .8-1.0 systems, you're probably not going to get more than 2 volleys, if that. and if one guy shoots a tad early, everyone else will only get 1 volley, it might be better use minmatar BS with arties fit instead. This has the added bonus of being able to pick between damage types.

2. Most mission hubs have a very crowded undock. You'll have issues undocking all your -10s and loading grid before someone gets bumped, or the mission runner is out of your optimals (especially with brutixes). There's also the matter of tons of people outside the station waiting to ninja the loot.

3. So the guy drops 2b in faction loot, now you split that between 10 people. 200m each. You'd be better off ganking t1 haulers in a .5 system with way less people. More volume, more chance of success, and less people you're splitting the isk with.

As a final thought, I would recommend ganking the person inside their mission with minmitar BS. Most MRs tank against the specific rats in the mission, so you can use an ammo that goes for their resist holes. You'll also have the advantage of their shields/armor being already low from the rats, and less chance of someone ninjaing the loot. Just keep the sec status of the ganking characters up (farming some missions for BS kills after each gank should do it)

In 0.9 its 8 seconds before concord comes in and jams you. That's enough for three volleys.

About the profits...you got fat fitted ships undocking all the time. Mostly you loss like 100k isk on each brutix...

http://evemaps.dotlan.net/system/Ichoriya is one major hub with 0.6 and yes tons of runners.

EDIT: And dont forget tengus, when their EHP is really low.
EDIT2: Of course you can do this in battleships, you still can do it without any loss due massive insuranse fraud still going.

You won't need a tank when suiciding mainly because as soon as concord turns up you get jammed anyway, so having a tank will prolong the time you will be sitting watching your shields go down. Unless your characters are outlaw, in which case a little tank would help just to give out enough DPS while the police pound you, but judging your setup you're not outlaw yet.

Also you might be better ganking a mission runner while he's running a mission. Undock in your scanning alt, with probes out and as soon as your guy undocks run a scan to get his ship ID. See which direction he warps to and run a scan in that area. Plus you'll have the added DPS help from the mission rats.

Next step would be to get a good warp-in, otherwise he'll warp out thinking you lot are ninjas lol

GL with it, and let us know how you get on Very Happy

I did some ganks outside Jita 4-4 last night, not all were successfull, and I didn't as first even scan the targets. Yes you can get the three volleys out in 0.9 but your target needs to be really close to that optimal. When it is, T1 haulers pop up quite easily.

I missed one badger by split second wich had cargo worth of 3-4 billions in faction mods... Laughing

I lost 5% of my secstatus on each kill, 1-2% on each try so not bad.

I wonder how it would work to have warp spot into tempest arty range infront of Jita 4-4 Very Happy

Just pick target and hope for the best Laughing

Of course the problem is the vulchers, but if you want to gank some ships just for lols - this is good way for that Very Happy

I wonder if the arty tempest could one volley those blockade runners... Twisted EvilTwisted Evil

About the costs, I lost last night about 400k ISK on each try, didn't build my own brutixes for that test, just snatched some from the market.
