yep is snowing in barcelona i know that you ppl take for granted some stuff because in your country is ****ing cold 3/4 months per year, but we got like 5-10 cm of snow on barcelona that means mobile networks down, roads closed and ****ing cold in the house whit only -4C
here even if you flat cost 250 000 euro your external house walls only have 15cm bricks and dont expect any kind of insulation dont expect any kind of doorstep or some parquet

i hope this is informative for you LaughingLaughingLaughing

No, we are not used to deal with so much cold and snow in Spain. By this time of the year, you'd normally see people walking around in t-shirts under the sunshine - not having to spend the whole weekend indoors because it's too f*cking vile out there >.<

Well, there's a business opportunity for you. Or, you could burn your Portuguese neighbors to keep warm.

On the other hand, I'd like to see how you cope with the scorching heat of our summers... something about the deep crimson tone the northerners' skins around here during that time of the year tells me they are not all that amused Razz

I laughed at that more than I propably should have.

@OP I can't really relate to you. Every house here is good for winter(the crappy ones can have a draft) and every person has a set of clothing good for limited duration outdoor activities at -30C. It is just a necessity of everyday living and during the winter you get used to the cold. The cloudy - 4C we had today felt warm for me. Very Happy

I have the great misfortune of living in an area that stays below freezing for at least a quarter of the year, and then for another three months can hover around 80-90 F while being stupidly humid out.

We're getting into that wonderful time of year where the snow is melting but it's not humid \o/

In fact, today I wore shorts because it was 45 degrees F out, I'm so happy Very Happy

Maybe if you had an education and a job that you competed for you could afford insulation... or many of the other technological innovations that have been invented since the ice age.

Where I live in Southern Cali, the streets flood, the power is out, and the stupid morons can't drive if it just looks like it's going to rain. We Californians just go crazy with sky pee falling on us. Imagine if it was the great flood like we had the other day. Shocked

Oh come on, that patch of clouds wasn't as bad as the ones in dec/jan. Razz

Yeah though, all the drivers turn to idiots whenever it rains. I like the rain though, considering we've been getting a decent amount more than we usually do, it's great for a day of starting the fireplace and watching tv or playing games, or if the power does go out there are books to read. Very Happy

I've only actually been in the snow twice, and the latter time it only snowed a bit. I'd love to go up to the mountains when it snows, just not having to deal with the below freezing temps that sometimes come along with the storms. Very Happy

Hehe, here in the north of Sweden we have 60-80 cm of snow and the mobile network works like a charm. We have snow removal guys out everyday when it's snowing, 24/7. It's awesome.
But I can understand your problem since Spain isn't that used to snow. Hell, we even have problems with it in the south of Sweden. When I visited Malm 2 months ago they had 5 cm of snow, no snow removal and all the busses stood still. And the cabs demanded crazy high prices to drive people.

My neighbours are out shoveling snow from the roofs so they wont cave in. I can trade your 10 cm for our 70? Rolling Eyes

I'm in Germany and we are totally not prepared. The salt deposits were empty after a few days, many accidents (even I hit a wall lol ... damn ice...) and a lot of roads are damaged. It will stay cold like this until next week. It's really annoying but what can you do? It's winter! Very Happy

"Coat"? I don't own any of those... or gloves, or scarves, or sweaters for that matter - I don't normally have a use for those Razz (I do own a thick jacket for the colder months though).

Anyway, today it's sunny, warmish, and perfectly clear blue skies. I'm out for a stroll, you can keep the coat ugh
