Weak weapons =/= good team gameplay. You can have awesome team gameplay while still having weapons that kill in 1-2 hits. In fact, it adds to the strategy, since getting into position to get the first (and only) shot is so important, you can't just run straight at the other guy while spraying bullets everywhere.

Just play the hardcore mode then on release, and actually aim, full-autoing any weapon will cause you to miss 2/3s of your shots, it's very easy to kill in just two trigger taps for bursting.

This is true, i think the only problem is it can be difficult to tell if you are actually hitting your target from a distance, so end up using more ammo. However two short (3-4 round) bursts does indeed usually down a target.

Yeah, and it does get tempting at times to just empty the mag into one opponent, best bet I find is to pop-fire it. Like: taptaptaptaptaptap, I noticed it kills very fast, and keeps very accurate, but it does burn through ammo a bit and I can only usually manage 3 kills before I have to reload. But I find that's pretty decent in its own right.

Beta was too laggy for my tastes.

I have high hopes for it though. Then again, after the trash that was Modern Warfare 2 it wouldn't be too hard to impress me.

Tried a little of the singleplayer this morning. And damn it's good. A bit less of a rollercoaster ride then MW2 but still action packed and fun.

Most impressive though is the level of destruction you can cause. And the guns feel and sound excellent. None of this firing from the hip is 100% accurate stuff either which is nice as well.

Lol wut. We even playing the same game? CS 1.6 is the definitive FPS for any competitive play.

EDIT:
This game seems very promising for just having fun with friends. May consider purchasing.

Game just arrived, servers are batty but that's nothing new for a Battlefield game, campaign is different so far.

The pilot in the campaign is funny as hell.

with my experience from the beta, I must say that having two engineers in the helicopter who were pretty decent at flying it was near impossible to kill....keep flying over the enemy spawn shooting stuff and when it looks like your getting shot, you can just fly back behind a building and land, repair and get back into the air in no time.

Been having fun playing online on my PC, loving it so far. A bit smaller than a typical BF game, but that is okay.

As for the SP game, I just got one question.

Where is the gold?

At the end of BC1, they drive off with a truck filled with gold while officially being listed as KIA. But now they are back and act like nothing happened, don't even mention the gold. Did I miss something somewhere?

I only played three missions before I went online, and there's no mention of the gold so far, no idea if it brings it up later in the game though, the squad banter is as good as ever though.

Also the day one map pack? Nelson Bay? is brutal as defenders, the attackers are almost literally impossible to spot.

Solo-pwnmobile style playing is near impossible. One main reason is that people have way more health, approx. 11 shots per person. You usually have to reload after each kill, or 2 if the enemies are right next to each other. So if you surprise a squad and manage to kill a guy, the rest will just own you right after, if they don't kill you before you kill their buddy.

Lame. Thank you for saving me from wasting my money on this awful game.

Hint to the BF:BC developers: hardcore mode was the only thing that made COD4 playable. Please join the 21st century and stop including bad counterstrike mechanics like taking a dozen chest shots from a rifle to kill anything.

There is a hardcore mode, played on a few servers during the beta.

To label it lame and call it awful when the same thing applies to MW2 is odd, I was going to say "lame" but it wouldn't do your post justice.

That said, for me the preference for bc2 is based on better team play dynamic, just my opinion, and dedicated servers.

Well, what about doing what a medic is supposed to do, ie. healing and reviving people? You get a badge every 7 (or 4, can't remember atm) healings, counting for 100 points. The healing itself gets you 10 points, squad heal 20, reviving even more.

Read my post again, the medic starts WITHOUT a medi-pack, or the defib, you can't heal, and cannot revive. It's really annoying to play as medic without this, it's the only kit that cannot play its role off the bat.

Damn, me and my buddies didn't have any unlocks apart from the pre-order bonusese, and the extra one for ordering off GAME in the UK, gotten the unlocks now bar the defib (sticking to engineer mostly) and it's got the ball rolling, game is awesome, only been playing Rush, love the Jungle map.

Got the game today. Tried to get onto multiplayer but everytime i go to connect it says "failed to connect. please check your netowrk settings". I've read some other forums and other people seem to be having this issue; just wonderinf if anyone on these forums has the same problem? I know the ticker along the bottome says that DICE know about it and are working on a solution.

I played the singleplayer for abit which is pretty cool so far. I turned on the "war tapes" audio option, and my god it sounds good. On sound quality/effects and all that jazz alone, BC2 tops my list.

Anyway, if anyone has encountered the same connection problem and has found a solution/work around lemme know Razz

^It's the DICE servers just going overload on launch, they always do. If you can get into a game (if you keep trying you usually can) it picks up from there generally and runs fine.

I still haven't gotten into that Island map on Rush, I keep rotating between Nelson Bay, Port Valdez and Vasperio(?). The latter being my favourite, once you take base 2, it just ramps up the awesome. Splash-down in, 3... 2... 1... Kaboom!

Been playing it all day, awesome game really good fun.

I love how team and squad centric the game is but it is also a flaw when your team/squad doesnt work together and it can be kind of frustrating.

Still has that good old battlefield feeling ive always enjoyed :D

Just did that Isla Innocentes map about eight times in a row back to back, good practice at flying the Blackhawks, started to unlock some stuff as Recon too, went up to the SV98 after that, still prefer Engineer though but Assault is damn nice with a red dot.

Whoever thought that the blaring siren in Conquest mode was acceptable however needs to be shot.

Well the connection problem seems to have been fixed for me. The only problem that i have atm, is that on busy servers i.e full 32 man, i start to lag really bad and the game becomes unplayable. I mean it's not my GC as i can run the missions and even up to like 6v6 multiplayer fine. Damn shared network Evil or Very Mad

It's to separate the bad pilots from the good ones, I've got the Blackhawk and the Hind down piloting wise, I still have issues with the Apache though.
