Hello there.

I have an idea for something that would be very helpful and useful.

At present you can see on your overview and screen (via brackets) many many things, such as icons for stations, asteroid belts, etc.

My idea is to add bookmarks to those so that you can see their icons in space, like you would for other things.

If you would like this to be introduced, then sign up!

Hopefully we will get enough votes for CCP to make this real :)

Sounds like a good idea. Bookmarks have always seemed a bit cumbersome to use insofar as their functionality never seemed to be fully incorporated into the interface.

It would be quite useful. I'm supporting the idea.

A second overview by chance is what I've been looking for. Something like having a smaller window, like the drones window, that shows only stations, stargates and bookmarks. I hate having the People and Places open constantly.

Supported.

I have a dozen bookmarks on various gates, and it's a pain to remember which one I'm at, and which one is furthest away. Having bookmarks visible in the brackets would certainly make life easier.

Bookmarks are really due for an upgrade (there are many things needed, fleet/corp shared BMs, etc)

This is a great idea and should be implemented!

It's nice to see a simple idea in here that would benefit the game a s a whole, rather than the OPs own game experience only.

+1 Internet to S1lvia.

Yeah, this would be very helpful. Would even be nice to be able to add bookmarks to your overview.

Bookmarks already show up in the system map view with their own little 'pin' icons. Wouldn't have thought it would be too hard to port that into the brackets/overview?

It'd be nice to see where your bm's are when you're looking for a sharp exit Smile.

Whilst we're at it, can we have "align to" functionality applied to bookmarks?

I think OP should take this to the assemby hall and not ask for signing here.

If it wasn't bad enough with ccp obviously not being active in this part of the forum, having to see good ideas linger here to be forgotten is no fun.

Wouldn't that make the use of tactical safes ridiculously easy? Partially obsolete the use of CovOps as warp-ins?

Might as well make it so that you can warp 2-500km in any given direction by right clicking in space, result is about the same .. a dumbing down of game-play catering to the lowest denominator.

Oh, I just found out that this idea is horribly bad!

Remember the bookmark bonanza with warp to zero bookmarks. What is stopping people in making and selling book-mark packs again?

I think this is a problem here :(

What do you think you know about 'lowest denominators' in eve? Any examples of current ones?

An other, limited alternative, could be to develop an insta-semi-bookmark-tool.

It would be a tool that created a warp-to-point on the grid, but with only one position/location stored at any time while on grid. The process of making a warp-to-point on the same grid could have a timer on it, preventing twitch warping.

If so, then what?
And why possibly, someone would want to buy bookmarks on some gate in xxx system, where you were camping in your hictor with friend during winter break? :)

Not really.
First you have to be somewhere and make bookmark, as you do right now.
The diffrence between now and the thing i'm talking about here, is that reaction time would be much faster, where instead of having to drop a drop-down menu and then find the proper bookmark, you could easly pick it up from bracket / overview.

There is likely two tendencies that would ensue. One being that tactical bookmarks would be sold as packs, the other the possible detrimental consequence in regard to server performance, with book-mark copying and such.

Wait, what? Tactical bookmarks? What are those? :)
Anyway, bookmarks wouldn't be sold - people have established a community(s) which is made out of friends, where they would share.
Also, why that would be bad? If you don't want to buy something, you don't have to.

It doesn't make a diffrence for macro miner if he bot pickes location from overview / bracket or if it would be people and places (most of 'em tend to use if from P&P).
