I fly a torp golem and was wondering what the pros and cons are for each skill mostly for making the decision between the two implants of said categories. Also, to a lesser degree what skill I should train first. Thanks for your replies.

once missiles start to hit, it won't matter. for purely psychological effect, get velocity.

Missile range = flight time * velocity.

IOW, you want as much of both as you can possibly get. Increasing both "in balance" yields the most range the quickest. FWIW, this is why it's best to get both a velocity rig and a flight time rig, rather than 2 of 1 or the other.

Though as was stated, the faster flight time "feels nicer" when you're watching the glowy light track after other ships, so if skilling "balanced" isn't what you want, then go for the velocity.

Missile Projection is the better skill as your missiles are in the air for less time, reducing their chance of being shot down by defenders and catching fast ships, thus why it's a higher rank than Missile Bombardment.

Admittedly it won't matter that much with torpedos, but every little helps.

Thanks, I knew there would be some aspects I wasn't considering.

Also, the less time the missile is in the air ,the less range you lose if your target is flying away from you. The quicker that your damage gets applied, and in the case of a killing shot, could mean less damage hitting you, fewer wasted shots due to firing a volley right before a finishing volley hits...etc, etc.
