Hi,

I don't know if it is only a feeling, or the consequence of my recent CPU/Motherboard upgrade, or a bug since the last patch, but sometimes, I can see my ships be correctly aligned to a warp location same if the speed of the ship cannot permit it.

I mean, for exemple after undocking, the inertial factor make your ship unable to align the warp point until the ship is sufficiently slow to permit a turn movement. But now, I just see an Iteron V with no agility, be able to turn toward the direction of the warp point (a 120 turn) within one or two seconds, whatever the undocking speed.

More funny, same if he was aligned, the Iteron still moved toward the undocking direction for few seconds before he begin to really move at the good direction : The ship made a circle strafing ?

It can happen at any moment, even near a gate. And this is disturbing. I nearly lost a ship at a gatecamp without understand nothing > He was aligned to the planet, full speed and direction, but he wait 4/5 seconds before doing it.

Am I the only one or there is really a bug ? ugh

I see this frequently too. Far as I can tell, it's just a graphical bug. Ship looks aligned, but actually isn't, and is skidding in a semi-circle to get going in the right direction.

CCP recently changed the visual representation of aligning. This was to reduce the amount of sideways warping that was 'seen' with larger less agile ships like plated BS, Dreads etc. You are still aligning in teh exact same time and same way it just looks different, no change has actually been made.

So instead of warping sideways, they prefer having us flying sideways? Rolling Eyes

It's called inertia your in space, so you have to cancel out the force of movement in a single direction before you can begin to move in your new direction, so the ship is moving sideways but is thrusting towards it's new direction.

Tbh I prefer it, much better then the old effect.

^ What he said ^

We used to have submarine physics. Now, its a bit closer to actual space flight. It can be disconcerting so CCP should add a few more white orbs or make them a little more more visible. Visual clues are the key.
