I'm only human - who but a saint could resist a straight line like that?

Aaaaaaaanyway... anyone else think that maybe CCP could maybe pick up a few extra blades for TQ in the January sales so we can have more reinforced nodes?

How come I have no problem logging in when there is 40k people, but have to wait in the queue when there is only 20k?

If you get a queue when there is only like 20k on the server, just close out the client and reopen it, the queue should be gone, and you can log in.

The queue is on the login/proxy server. There's more than one of them and a rapid increase of people trying to log in can overload one or two of them. This can happen with 100 people on the server as wel 50,000 people. It's actually more likely to happen with 100 people since the server would be just up and everybody trying to log in. Close the client and restart it and your login request should be redirected to one who's twiddling his thumbs.

depend on the configuration but can go easily over 15/20k, the problem is on 2008 CCP got only 8m$ profit

Let's hope there's a few coins in the hardware budget. The CCP devs are geeks and all geeks love buying hardware!

Are CCP considering to get the company in the stock market?

I may be interested to invest.

Getting on the stock market is one step away from disaster. As soon as any random moron with too much money can buy stock and demand authority to where CCP should be going, this game will be dead.

This thread is ultimately the best analogy I can find to describe EVE. EVE is the NASCAR of the MMO industry; go in circles as fast as you can until they all crash. Quick, everyone log on the alts and fly to Jita, just fast enough to give CCP 15$ to punch you in the face with 50 Charon's all waiting to warp, and BOOM; server crash!

This. CCP are on occasion hilariously inept, but I prefer that a hundred times over to what publically listed companies invariably become.

Agreed.

p.s. That doesn't mean you ( ccp ) have to stop trying to fix your game tho !
