It was quite dead when i tried it.

I've never been banned fro eve radio, and most people getting bans in there gets around 2 hours.
That being said theres music for every one, different dj's play different kinds of music. Theres some for metal, techno and pop - even rosa helikopter :P, DJ Sam likes her rock and so forth.

oh and DJ Funkybacon and his Nightwish ;P

Wow..

Ok, I guess Its my mistake..I wasnt very clear in my explanation.

You guys are missing one thing here and that the knowledge that I was completely and totally unaware this EVE-Radio was a business. As I stated, I didnt put the "EVE-Radio" in the chat options, it was already there. To my understanding of the whole "chat" box thing, it was similar to any other chat. Such as the CAS (Center for Advanced Studies) chat window. Everyone is always talkin about all kinds of things, be it other Corps. or what was for dinner last night.

Up until about, ohh, a month ago maybe, I was in CAS Corp. I started out in CAS when I started to play EVE and until recently, was always in CAS.

Well, there are only 6 of us in that Corp and no one was online. I like to chat whilst scanning and probing systems, its become just one of those things I do when I play. So, I started looking around the different Chat windows that were available, saw EVE-Radio and heard about it thru different forums n stuff, saw there was alot of people who were there, so, ehh, why not, I gave it a try.

After reading several peoples posts about how they liked the song that was playing...well, being a bit tired of EVE ingame music, I wanted to hear what other EVE players were listening too. So I asked for a link.

When I plugged in the link, it went straight to my iTunes program and started playing. I wasnt aware this was some REAL STATION per se, thought it was just a bunch of CD's someone had looped playing in their computer. NO IDEA this was a business FOR REAL, in REAL LIFE Embarassed

I had ZERO idea there were REAL DJ's that manned this REAL Radio station..I honestly just thought all this was just part of the game, period.

I didnt like what was being played. No problem with what was being played, just wasnt my type of music, which, as some of you have mentioned, you do not like mine either. Nothing wrong with that at all, opinions vary, right. To each his/her own.

Having a regular "chat" minded thinking this EVE-Radio was, I let it be known by saying I didnt want to listen to "no damn F.Sinatra". Just as in any other chat talkin bout different ships...."Ahhh that _____ ship su cks, this ______ ship is much better." Which im sure, all of you who read this can attest to, IS talked about in chat on one level or another. And, most commonly, someone will post what, to THEM is a better ship, so I posted, what TO ME was a better selection of music.

Being offensive isnt what I was trying to do, I was simply just chattin it up. Prior to asking for a link to EVE-Radio, I had NEVER spoken a typed word in that chat room at all.

As for the DJ's. It honestly didnt even click in my head, putting 2 and 2 together never happened at all that some of the people's names had DJ in front of it. I did notice them, but I figured they were in the same family or something, like a husband and wife playing EVE together. Totally didnt click the DJ prefix to their character name was outlining that they were in fact, "DJ's".

This has been a complete and I do mean COMPLETE and TOTAL misunderstanding. Mine, for not knowing what I was getting into and EVE-Radio for not conveying to me what the situation was and instead, just out right giving me the boot.

Now that I am aware of WHAT EVE-Radio is, I completely understand why they would take offense to me posting another link to another radio station. In their eyes, that was very uncool to do and if you guys knew me, you would know that I am all about the karma man. Had I known, I would not have said what I did, I would simply have left that chat and EVE-Radio and just went about my business, but as I said, I was in a conversating mood and just behaved as I might in CAS or my new Corps chat, listening to the station I had found.....Which, btw, odd as it may seem, I would never have found or even though to look in iTunes for the radio station I found. Odd ehh, heh.

So, if I stepped on anyones toes there, I apologize.

PeaceCool

Been a while since i listened in to eve radio, but the dj's there used to be pretty kewl and laidback. But i also remember that some did become a lil more arrogant overtime and got their own 'worshippers' so to speak.

Once more, a couple of misonceptions about Eve-Radio. Allow me to edumuncate you.

1) Eve-Radio is not a business. We don't make any money, we bleed money. We have generous donations from listeners that cover roughly half our average monthly expenses and top up the rest with ad revenue from the website and private benefactors.

2) People get banned from Eve-Radio in game channel for trolling, racism, being overly offensive, spamming links, advertising rivals, abusing the on air DJ and various other things which are counter productive to the environment the DJ's and other players are in.

3) DJ's do this all for free and recieve no special perks for it. As such, they don't need to sit there and take crap from folks who just want to ruin the experience for them and the listeners.

4) Eve-Radio loves it's listeners but does get tired of ill informed muppets trolling.

I'll sort your ban out Krinthe if it hasn't expired already.

Come now, no need for that. He made a mistake, didn't understand what it was all about and apologised. Case closed, let's all just get on with Christmas.

Wow tough crowd in here.

I'm wondering how many of you are just insecure little nerds who will use anything at their disposal against the first person who gave you an excuse to make you feel big.

People would have to step pretty far over the line to upset me but I guess I'm alone.

In this day and age where you see people getting stabbed dead in the streets over how they appeared to show 'disrespect' to some nutcase I guess it's no surprise.

In that case somebody on your friendslist invited you to that channel - EVE won't ask you if you "really want to join?" a channel if it's a friend that invites you. Anyway, EVE-Radio is not a default channel.

Hmmm. Well, I guess that could be possible, I have been playing for some time now, its possible at some time thru CAS chat, someone there posted the link and I followed, I dunno. I can say that I have no recollection in ever physically typing the words "EVE-Radio" into the chat search window.

Mr. Blades, thank you for your understanding and yes, ban has been lifted, I appreciate that. Since I wasnt paying that close attention to who the DJ's were at that time, if you could convey to them my respect and apologies I would feel better about the situation. Trolling wasnt my intent nor was giving competition to the show.

To the rest of the crowd here, so ya know. Im 36 (I doubt a 12yrd could cope with this game), married and have 2 kids and 2 jobs (economy Rolling Eyes ). At least I can type Wink

In general I really like ER, I dunno if you're just the web guy or what MrBlades but thanks for keeping the show running.

Anyway OP, some of the DJ's really don't do well with criticism of their music or style. My advice if you don't like it, tune in somewhere else. You won't like 100% of the stuff on any radio station, let alone one that features so many genres as ER.

I like this one as well.Very nice DJ's that enjoy having a laugh and they are really trying to make people enjoy them selfes when they are online, both in chat, and on air.Not had a bad exsperiense in their channel so far even if i have been there for a few months.
And no,im not saying this because i think they are better then ER.I simply have never listened to Eve radio even if im sure they are nice people as well :)

I wouldn't ban anyone for saying they dislike Tool, even though I love them.

Though I might ban people if they say they like hiphop.

It is actually kind of default, its under the 'other' tab in the channels list. Yes you don't have it opened by default like you do local or corp, but you can get there solo with no help. I think thats what he meant.
