Just for fun, I thought I would consider what types of “enhancements” or “upgrade” patches I would like to see in the future. When I first started playing EVE, there was not much variety, just T1 frigs, cruisers, battleships, and interceptors. What else can there be? Room for more ships?

Carriers: I would like carriers to be more specialized. Combat carrier (fighter specific bonuses), maybe a defensive carrier (with focus on repping bonuses), and a logistics carrier (this was discussed before but fell apart). I would also like carriers to have a very very limited jb capability or motherships perhaps… like 1 light year max or something? This would give builders something more to do, add variety and specialization for carrier pilots….Discuss… what would you like to see?

hrmm, what else… lets have a fun constructive discussion…

covert outposts: small with limited capabilities… (how limited?), could be dropped in any null sec system that doesn’t have existing sovereignty… invisible to on board radar and core probes, but visible to combat probes. Could be used by smaller alliances to grab a foothold in 0.0 space, but once found / discovered would have limited defenses. Larger alliances could use as a staging point to battle foes in distant lands.. easy to destroy, just harder to find perhaps? discuss…

K-space wormholes: I would like to see more of these that lead to high sec/low sec and other null sec systems.. for obvious reasons, this would be a boost to pvp and at times help with logistics (when you find that awesome wh to leads a jump or two from Jita.. always nice)

Coalitions: Formalization of treaties with other alliances. This could replace “standings” as they currently exist with a more formal contract between sovereign alliances. Instead of just setting a friendly alliance blue, you could determine what rights or privileges they have, such as right to use alliance Jump Bridge network, dock in stations, use station services, even ratting or mining in a sovereign system (doing otherwise would flag the individual in local perhaps and broadcast to other local residence that they are doing so? discuss)

Jump Bridges: remove the password – it is fail since enemies can obtain the pw and use it to sit in POS.. seems more of an exploit imo….(see above for setting rights/permissions of JB use to other alliances via coalition system). Addition of jump bridge networks in empire (low sec) for use by faction warfare participants (only) that have enough standings as a corp… discuss pro’s and cons…can they be disabled by opponents?

Tech 1 loot: Remove tech one (non named) loot from loot tables. Tech 1 as it exists today is useless.. t2 being the standard. This would server several purposes, #1, it would be a slight nerf to mission runners in empire and balance the risk / reward that 0.0 dwellers complain about with empire being easy isk making mode with little to no risk. This would also boost mining as a career by removing a large portion of the minerals on market from refining useless t1 loot, and would give more value to building t1 items since the market will cause a surge in t1 prices. If done right could be a huge but positive change… mission runners would still earn very good isk from bounties and salvage and named loot would still drop from rats…. discuss.. (this was not my idea just adding it cuz I liked it so much)

Assault Frigates and Interceptors: These need a boost, but how? They have somewhat lost their purpose in fleets. Hitpoint bonuses?

T2 Destroyers: Anti-Stealth Bomber squads.. could have a high slot device that acts like a shield of sorts that mitigate damage from bombs by X% ? discuss…or allow existing t2 destroyers (dictors) to use this device? Or perhaps it could be a deployable device that a dictor pilot could drop over a friendly BS fleet as a shield

I really like the covert outpost idea and the idea of having a t2 destroyer (dictor) mod that can drop bubbles that mitigate bomb damage... that would be kinda sweet. I have seen some of the other ideas and would need to be adjusted / tweaked, but most of the ideas seem like fun.

I wouldnt mind seeing more unique mods brought to the game like this... such as a webifier bubble for dictors.

So what you're saying is that you want gatecamps to be impenetrable by anything and a dictor bubble to be a death sentence instead of a major obstacle to overcome, got it.

Do people even think about what they post in here?

I like the covert outpost idea as well, the others i have heard here and there in some form or another but still good ideas.. removing t1 loot would be intersting if done right.

I hope this is the correct place to post (if not, then please send to appropriate forum); I've search many forums and threads for the correct place to PROPOSE these new features:

Sb's...are fragile, very fragile. Don't need an onslaught of alpha strikes on crack like the aoe dd bearing titans of old.

Want to limit the effect of sb's....don't bunch up. Cost of bombs in null sec or the fact we got 3 of them for the whole op if away from home...take your pick. Most are not going to waste a load on single ship blast radius bomb run most times unless you a real nice target. If that happens...chances are you were high up on the primary list anyway. least death by sb more personal lol. Not as cold as primary call 100km's out and alpha'd by snipe bs'.

Covert outposts... I like the idea, though I think they should be something like a small POS tower, with it and its contents cloaked to probes and all scanning, but visible to the naked eye.

It should be relatively inexpensive, but have limited power grid / cpu, and not be able to support bridge arrays or anti-capital weapons.

I like a number of the other ideas aswell.

Some good points, although most can already be justified as fabricating something that is already there [offensive carriers = dreads]/ T1 loot produces a lot of mins etc..

I sort of agree with the JB pw since it is a pain in the ass, but its no good for neutrals for the most part since the POS will still shoot them even if they are inside its shields i believe.

The idea of yours that really caught my eye is the Coalitions/Treaties thing - I would like to throw it out there that renters are only blue for the space/systems that are under contract to live in [as soon as they move out of a designated constellation/trade or logistics route], they turn neutral - this will really stop the b*stards whoring all the plexes left right and center [ha], although this i think would be somewhat confusing.

AFs and inties have lost their purpose in larger fleets because thats not what theyre designed for [and with the inty, you could do a better job in a rapier or dictor]. AFs are fine atm, just fly an ishkur and fit it out right, you'll see.
