I would propose a new form of consensual pvp, to allow pvp without either endless waiting / searching or long time commitment like FW.

Agents in High would offer Defender Jobs, agents in low pirate jobs.

Players would register with an agent, who would define max ship class and a SP range to make meaningful pvp.
If a match between two (or more players) is found both players get a mission offer, one e.g. to defend a ship/structure in e.g. a wormhole, one to attack it.
If accepted both have to make an deposit. A wormhole or stargate will lead them to a instanced pocket, where the fight will take place, regardless where in eve universe the players are located.
If one is a no show, the one showing up get's the deposit. Money is paid on the successful mission (maybe a little for the looser too).

Horrible idea.

Join RvB if you want to pvp without losing much and having to follow a s*** ton of rules.
PvP is about tactics, engaging on YOUR terms, having to worry about possible overwhelming numbers, etc..
There is more pvp in finding your targets and choosing how to engage than actual fighting.

OP, the problem is CCP already tried to impliment arenas and failed because they wanted it to be lossless, TQ's codebase doesn't understand virtual objects (same reason only one person can fly a ship). Why in blue blazes they wanted to make it lossless I've no idea, most people in support of arena combat wanted standard "it pops its gone" EVE. *shrug*

Most people now just write "TQ was too hardcore for it" although the idea was more "the alliance tournament all the time".

I still support the idea of rentable arenas, betting, ship/point limitations and stuff, but your not going to find that the majority want that as they feel it'd pull people out of low sec; which really suggests low sec needs a boost but simple souls and all that.

Having dedicated battle arenas sounds very interesing, and if players diyes..no problem. But to prevent this can be set that player have implemented surrender options (works only if player have less than 50% of hull) - match is effictevely over. (and if his dont surrender...well)

And posibility to placing bets on gladiators sounds even more interesing, sou you can place bets on 1vs1, 2vs2, 2vs1...etc.
And before placing bets you can reviev fitting of each ship in arena. (but mayby not)
Ratio on win (e.q 1,1x of bet) is automaticaly determined by system counting gladiators ship value and skills vs oponent.

Well, I don't want wow like no consequence pvp, but a fast way to have some fun, allowing both empire and low/0.0 players to let off some steam. That in a way that there are meaningful fights, within the game logic.

Isn't that the whole point of PVP? yummy tears?
You're the person I hate who's trying to turn this game into a bland bag of sh*t. This is EVE not WOW.

Actually they should just kill sec status, Concorde, and the whole wardec system. This is Eve Online, not Happy Candyshop Online.

I would be against this. First because if CCP were to to this sort of 'consensual pvp' would be bad for Eve. Eve PvP should be as-you-find-it (this is not and should not be WoW).

Second, it does not fit into the background of this universe. Who or what force is creating wormholes for the purpose of having two people duke it out?

in eve, you 'consent' to pvp the moment you undock.

if people could tickle their killophilia button without having a loss mechanic then there would be no reason for real pvp.

You can a) grow up. or b) play on the test server if you want to have loss-less, fake pvp.

But you suggest hundreds of dev-hours to thousands of lines of code to make what? a cheap empire toy that does no good but to make this game more like wow?
no thanks.

Really (are you the official CCP rep claiming this is official policy)?

Certainly the amount of griefing for defenseless ships (noobs and freighters for example) can be addressed and besides the point of finding faster fights for pvp players would be welcomed. Integrating a feature for more, faster, and consentual/notified PVP should be discussed without invoking WOW or any other MMO game.
For instance:

My PC lags and I have lost 2 ships on trade routes while undocking from station; (I'm webbed and scrambled, I have lost my shields and my armor is red-lining before I even saw the stars in space or the pirates)!
Idea Include feature to activate mid and low slot defensive modules before undocking procedure completes (i.e. the undocking sequence has several steps before entering space, simply add "checking" and "activating defensive systems" to this sequence; activate shields or armor modules for example).
Now the undocking checklist is complete; fly safe!

An optional fair mod for all undocking pilots is to extend station shields to a 5 km (or some appropriate) range. Now hopefully the damage to undocking ships will not occur until AFTER the client pc can see space!
This at least gives (non-pvp'ers or lagging client PCs) a fair chance.

I dont know what all you people are talking about.

EVE already has consensual pvp.

Its the logon screen. By agreeing to it, you agree to pvp, whenever and wherever it happens.

the great thing about eve pvp is that, when you win you really feel you have won, and when you have lost you really really feel you have lost.. i mean, how many hours did it take you to grind and fit up that hac you just lost in a split second ?

ohh and btw, eve pvp is consentual.. I.e; your corp got wardecced, and you stayed with it. You took your barge into lowsec to mine that ore. you joined at pirate/fw/null sec corp, you decided to shoot back at that dude who just took your ore or took some "free" loot..

for a fast fight; park yourself in a belt in Aeschee, Rancer or any other known pirate hideout. Or get into sisi, if thats your trick
