The Holidays are just around the corner so...

To all my Democrat / Liberal friends:

Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all. I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2010, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country nor the only America in the Western Hemisphere. Also, this wish is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wish.

To all my Republican / Conservative friends:

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I don't see this as "Political Crap", rather it is a heartfelt expression of greetings in a politically correct way. An attempt not to offend anyone's sensitive beliefs while acknowledging the holiday season.

I actually like this post as it speaks volumes about where we have come as a society.

Here's hoping this doesn't get locked.

Something like that cannot be mangaged, I for one am already offended in my belief that this stuff needs be heartfelt and to the point.

OP's intentions are cloudy in the heartfelt category, very much not to the point, and the required time to decipher it all, i'd like that back please. :p

edit: forgot entire words in there

So according to you all Republican's have a religion of only Christian descent? c/d?

Also I'm seeing some stereotyping/smartasshatery. And to confirm this, I'm 98.4347837482% certain, by my calculations, OP is a Republic Christian.

You people make me sadCrying or Very sad I try to send a Holiday greeting that doesn't offend, and all I get is offended people.

The Idea behind the post was to point out the ridiculousness of political correctness during this time of year. Instead of having a traditional Christmas greeting, many people, as well as law firms are trying to completely remove it from our conversations. What we get now is "Happy Holidays, Seasons Greetings" and other washed out, white washed platitudes. We cannot sing Christmas Carols in public schools and stores are afraid to "offend."

Get a grip people and enjoy the season... most everyone gets the day off for Christmas and the holidays.Rolling Eyes

I'm not a christian, I'm actually agnostic. But I still say merry christmas. I still understand what the holiday is about, and I still celebrate it appropriately.

What is lacking in America is Tolerance. Tolerance of other religions and cultures.

You can observe religious traditions as a matter of honoring your friends and family.. well except for communion at a Catholic church...

As a neutral observer (taking the time off from a really good blot), I'd say it probably stems from your making it a political discussion (making it liberal vs conservative - especially painting liberals as the "bad" side).

You do seem to be a very effective troll, and I'm taking notes.

Aww don't worry, there are always people like me to keep the spirit of Christmas alive. As an Atheist, I'm stripping out all the Christian dogma and returning it to its rightful pagan origins. Merry Saturnalia everyone, remember drink and eat heartily! and for you christians, **** off back to March/April!
