I was under the impression that TCU's were not anchorable at control towers. But now, unlike a cyno jammer that takes up a large chunk of tower grid, we're going to have to face off against 18000 dps towers fully armed?

I keep hearing small scale warfare, but I keep seeing more and more reasons to blob up. Can we fix this ****.

You can easily destroy a vulnerable TCU in a single siege cycle. If the tower is really giving you that much trouble, incap some of the weapons first.

I'm just worried about the fact that you have to defend a TCU against hotdrops (which will be successful in 10 minutes or less, so you need a standing army) for the entire 12 hours while it onlines. Confused And then you have to anchor an ihub immediately after it finishes if you want any buffer at all.

Your TCU is only vulnerable if the gates have SBUs on them, remember?

Also, you need to take any outposts or iHUBs in system before you go for the TCU. Neither of these can be anchored at a POS, and have no defenses other than their owners. Keeping the TCU at a POS prevents the casual passer-by from messing with your space, while keeping Dreads in their intended role of "shooting high-hp things with their big guns". At least now you don't have to worry about defending or shooting multiple towers in a system, or POS spamming.

the point of the patch was to boost supcap roaming gangs and their ability to take space without intervention of capitals. If CCP REALLY REALLY want people to make serious contentions at 0.0 sovereignty then they would fix the ability to anchor these things at towers.

No, because CCP said so. Anchoring things at gates won't kill off outposts, hubs or tcus, and without doing those, you're not actually taking anything.

I'm with the OP on thinking this is a 'dropped ball' by CCP.

TCUs are invulnerable until SBUs hold 51% of the gates in the system.

If you have people anchoring lots of SBUs in your system, your tower isn't going to stop them popping it. Its not going to do anything really but give them something else to 'look' at as they destroy the TCU when its vunerable.

No they wont kill your pos first, they'll warp in to the TCU at 160 from your pos, drop the TCU and leave waving their willies at your pos.

SOOOOOOOO people placing them at towers is A) waste of your time and effort and B) something CCP shouldn't have allowed in the first place.

POS'es go on moons, TCUs on Planets, SBUs on gates.

I'm not sure CCP will do anything until enough TCUs have died to the method I just theory crafted there for you in the above paragraphs.

Expect the tears to be flowing when people discover a POS is no protection save from the odd 'tourist'.
