Does anyone else have this issue? As I said, I was able to run all three with no problems whatsoever. Now with two it's as laggy as all hell.
Memory leak maybe?

I'm having this problem as well on nvidia 8600GT with latest drivers and windows 7.

I have Win 7 too. I reinstalled the operation system, but still not fixed the problem.

I experienced some odd lag that happened periodically, however it turned out to be a slight lag due to the shift+ctrl+alt+m "monitor" window that updated its graph. So when the graph window was up, there was this odd lag appearing periodically.

It was a minor thing, but it looked weird before I know what it was.

Q: I get some lag running dual client sometimes when one ship warps away from the other, but I wonder, how many of you here experience any fps lag have forced antialising?

I am wondering if higher antialising values somehow enhances the subtle lag. Just guessing.

I filed a bug report on this issue but they tried to tell me my system was overheating and that they hadnt had other reports on this problem so please everyone file a bug report. For me it started with the most recent dominion patch- the initial dominion rollout worked fine. Every 5ish minutes my cpu usage shoots up to near 100% for the core EVE is on and my fps drops to between 3 and 10 regardless of my graphics settings and this continues for about 10-60 seconds. This happens to me even if I'm sitting in station, tabbed out and browsing. I've got a geforce 9800m GS but I don't think this is a videocard issue. My roommate with the same computer has the same issue also.
I'm running windows 7... Anybody having this issue with other operating systems?

Here is what the lagspikes look like for me

Was experiencing horrendous lag spikes when trying to warp (and cancelling warp), which lasts about 10-20 seconds. Setting "Texture Quality" to MEDIUM fixed the issue. Changing the interval did not fix the issue. I have an ATI 3850.

i experience this same problem in any fleet fight about 100. Its exacly as said, its graphical lag but its not actually grapics lag. The fps just stutters on and off then will load fine for a while. It happens no matter what im doing, ie sitting at a pos doing nothing i will still experience this odd stuttering. It is 100% not linked to server lag as there is no module/response lag at all during these times.

Edit: This only occured after deployment of dominion

Like I have said, setting textures to medium with an ati hd4850 helps but it's still bad enough for me not to risk going on a lvl4 mission.

I haven't done anything but train skills since the deployment of Dominion, instead i play games that do properly work on my PC(all the rest of them). It's about a month now and it's still not fixed. I'm not going to pay forever for a game that doesn't properly work.

Just wanted to chime in on the topic and say that I'm having the same issue.

I'm a new player, though.Started about two weeks before Dominion came out. Had no problems. Brand new computer, too.

AMD II X4 620 quad core 2.6 ghz processor
6 gigs PC6700 ram
Nvidia 9100 onboard graphics card

I know the card is obviously a problem, will fix it later this month. But this problem seems to stem from something a bit more into the core of the Eve Client.

All of my settings are on low, everything possible is turned off(including resource caching). I will run at a smooth 20-30 FPS in space, floating around shooting people. Dropped to 15-20 FPS in a fleet of about 60 while fighting.

From time to time, when the issue rears its head, I drop to 1 or 2 FPS. And it'll happen randomly. IE; sitting in station doing fittings, ratting solo, ratting in a group, midwarp, end warp, conga-ing with 5 other players.

Reported it as a glitch, was told to update drivers. Updated drivers, no help.

If a solution doesn't come soon I'm going to have to cancel my account. The problem happens often enough that I can't do anything.

Heeeeeeelp.... Haha

if you are in fleet, close, by pressing x, the fleet window. before that, select hystory. wait few seconds, open it again and do not change the tab.
I have an Athlon x2 300+, win 7 and a GF6600GT videocard. No problems for me. But I am remember that such behaviour happens before dominion.

I'm running a Radeon X1950 Pro.
I get freezes when I start warp and when I exit warp. Haven't done much else so I don't know.

This is some flaw with the latest patch as well with the CCP architecture. Its not just a graphic freeze, by whole computer is stuck for about 5 seconds per incident.

Unfortunately, since this is a client side total freeze, I'm a sitting duck every time this happens.Mad

Cheers mate this fixed my X1950 pro card as well i must say eve has been **** since domination and this is the first thing thats worked.

I was able to eliminate my pauses by turning texture quality down to low. Everything else is left on high.

Setting texture quality from high to low worked for me as well. C2D 6300, 8 GB RAM, Radeon 3870 w/ 256MB, single client at 1680x1050 windowed, all other settings set to low.

Yeah right! With all the settings turned to low I will have no lag either.
Come On! That is not acceptable. Before dominion I ran eve with everything on no problem. They ad a few things and suddenly the thing runs like crap. Let them do their job right.

Oh, I'm not claiming that in any way. Cool
I was merely confirming that this seems to be a workaround for the problem, and i fully expect CCP to be working hard to-- oh, wait. It's CCP. They probably haven't even noticed the problem yet. Especially since there's no blue in here yet.

The issue is still not fixed, all my drivers are updated, all other games work fine, but still if I use the HIGH texture settings I get lag/freeze issues.

The thing is, my whole computer freezes for short intervals, not just EVE. I got no problems with any other games/programs.

Posted - 2010.01.27 23:03:00 - [48]

With the latest CCC and drivers for my ati 4850 my problems are as good as over. Just a little stutter when I leave the station that's all. And I can have all the graphics settings on high again, like I used too.

I used to Run everything MAXED, no problem. now, since the last patch, I'm still getting lag with it it set to minimum settings.

I'm running a Quad Core Phenom 9770
Nvidia 8500GT
4gb RAM

If I run it in a window and monitor my resources, my CPU useage doesn't hit above 10% during a spike, and I'm using less than a Quarter of My Commit Memory. So I know it's not my computer acting up. And if I minimize Eve, the problem goes away entirely. Oh yes, and I can hit Spikes at random with my ship just sitting in station with not fleet. I've sat and just stared at it for 20 minutes and watched it bounce back and forth about 10 times.

This is very angering. I should be able to run multiple boxes, but can't even run one right now. Unless I can somehow figure out how to play it while it's minimized to the tray, I'm paying for a game that isn't even playable.
