Awesome patch, awesome features, I'm excited (and downloading) !

But.

Can anyone tell me what's that supposed to mean :

More Corification

The user system of EVE got corified in order to be more easily used in other CCP products.
The UI was also corified and is now hardcore.

Thanks !!

This blog outlines the ongoing engineering effort of the "corification" of our software that is fueling EVE.

Can we get an option to turn of the warnings that appears when you undock with an aggression timer.

Better yet can we get an option to simply turn off all warnings. If not, this ONE needs to have that option.

You can turn that off on your HUD settings (small white triangle).

Continuing from other thread:

I've imported an overview xml file with more than 5 tabs. I saw in the patch notes: "# You can no longer create more than 5 tabs when importing an overview XML file." Fair enough. How do I create more than 5 tabs manually. I can't seem to do this with one one of my accounts, but the account that I exported from is working just find with 10 or so.

You can no longer do that.

Impressive changes.

Love the new planets and improved starfield.

Nice in-game browser.

New Jukebox is very, very nice. I'm rediscovering that Eve, does indeed, have sound.

Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon is f*****g incredible mixed with radio chatter, combat, and warp sounds. Very Happy

I asked this in GD without any reply.

The fleet finder setting for standings excludes your own corp, So there is no easy way to make a fleet for your corp and friendly corps. You can set your own corp blue from your char, but then everyone who plans to start a fleet has to do the same.

Is this intended?

You can now pull PLEX items out of the game and into the redeeming system so that these items can be used on the Eve-Online website.

I have put two Plex's into the redeem system but where on eve-online website do they appear? Does it take a day for the to appear or has the web side of things not been done yet?

-storm planets looks the same
-no blue gas giants. All existing are like zebra with boring colors
-no lightnings on earth-like planets
-no citys on the day-side of earth-like planets

-shodows still blocky
-no fixes for battleships texture quality. They have worst textures then quake 2.
-old backgrounds

IBG - best feature so far. I've already set up a website for my main toon's corporation (70 people and growing). I used mediawiki and wrote a custom authentication module for it. By setting the site as trusted in the IGB and going to the wiki, it will automatically add a new account that matches the toon name.

In addition, it restricts access to certain areas of the site based on roles and membership. It is, essentially, a fully integrated EVE wiki. When someone leaves corp, they loose access to the wiki. I don't have to do a thing. Next I'll be writing some extensions to do things like autolink items, etc.

I'd love to see some additional feature set around the IGB integration. I've got several ideas for when the dust settles.

I'm sure there are 20 people working on this already, but I've got some alpha code that tweets corp notifications and eve mails. It can also send an e-mail to your gmail or work e-mail account when you get an eve mail/notification. I don't have time to flush it out all the way, I'm hoping someone out there is working on a more polished solution. There is a fair bit of interest from people I've shown my prototype stuff to.

The fact the API servers are getting thousands of requests per second now is hopefully a major alarm at CCP letting them know we are thirsty for more!

Starfield is ugly. plz use a map bigger than 512x512

TBH i liked the old one better, at least it wasn't all pixelated

& not having mails sorted under senders (like previously) is fail

Loving the graphics generally, but this wobbly camera is wayyy too much. Please include the ability to disable that camera weaving; it makes playing the game quite uncomfortable when you're sitting in front of a very large display.

Evemails received from mailing lists should be auto-tagged with the mailing list as a label.

Other than that - so far so good. Though I dread undocking until you give us a version x.01 that allows disabling that camera seasickness feature.

Starfield is ok , larger than 512x2 is a good idea as graphics improved, the pixelation is a trade off with newer-older graphics card

U can sort mails under senders just attach as a grouping or whatever its called

I would REALLY enjoy having an option to autoload character thumbnail avatars in chat windows and in station. I've been eagerly awaiting this for almost two years. EVE's HUD looks unfinished without the avatar pictures. Is there some concern that lead to the thumbnails not being loaded by default? With the massive Tier 1 network bandwidth upgrade ccp did last year I cant fathom the reason why we still have to click on every single avatar image to show the picture.

Anyone care to mention why more than 5 tabs was so bad then please?

I would really enjoy the autoload of char avatars in station.

Its been longer than 2 years, the HUD still is unfished but the concern is not being there

The tier one upgrade needs to be adjusted

You put our TCU in a really undesirable spot. We want it to be near a POS, we can't move it, we can't take it down without losing sovereignty and we can't anchor 2 at the same time... How can we move this to a place that doesn't suck without resetting our 'sov clock'?

Seems as though you overlooked this.

EDIT: This is the only thing I don't like about the patch btw, great job overall. I was expecting multiple issues / resets.

I particularly like the mission window (Ship restrictions) additions and that all taxes now display in your wallet. Nice, (as far as I know) undocumented additions.

-no citys on the day-side of earth-like planetsThey are definately there, look around

-shodows still blockyVery true, Please fix at least the station shadows CCP Sad
-no fixes for battleships texture quality. They have worst textures then quake 2.I'v been hearing this for a while, but it's not that bad to be honest. Make a screenshot of that if you think that the quake2 statement is true, can't believe it's that bad
-old backgroundsVery true, can't understand why they haven't upgraded the single thing you see most in EVE...

Probably not? I think you can set a corp standing on a corp level to your own corp though, but thats only a work around for now.

Pretty sure this is a troll, but I'm going to reply anyways. The old starfield were 1px stars drawn by the renderer, this is a decent starfield map that has more then enough resolution. Try zooming in etc. As for mails, I think you can still sort by the column sender. So that shouldn't be an issue either.

The camera movement is getting really annoying. After couple hours of play I have moderate head ache and probably it would get worse unless I stop playing. Could you please fix this camera movement? I think I'm not the only one who is getting sea sickness because of it Sad

It is possible to avoid the camera movement by setting your camera so that you watch directly "from up" so it's like looking from the sky. But that view is not usable 95% of the time.

The slightly annoying camera movement just requires and asprin and change of resolution. Sea sickness or space sickness, is it possible to lock the camera into the sky position ?

PLEASE

MAKE

THE FONTS

BIGGER

I'd wager this is possibly the best UI change CCP could possibly make.

Do you guys have hyperactive-8-year-old eyesight? Shocked

Please improve the font size selection soon.

Even Notepad can do it.

Planets look great though! Cool

Optional bigger fonts please.

The best UI change has been in development for a while

Notepad is good, planets could do with some improvement but given the timeframes look ok not enough variance but then again lack of variance is a ccp trait

I think that was just for disabling explosions shaking the camera. It doesn't help with the "on the sea effect".

Really sad that voice fonts got cut at the last minute. I hope they will be in game soon. I guess we can consider Eve voice still lame for now. A typical CCP move, tease us at Fanfest and not deliver. I suppose this will come with walking in stations.... :P

Planets and moons look nicer sometimes.

Patch was really painful to get to work. Took multiple tries and some shenanigans with DLLs installed by hand for me in the end to make it all start to work.

I was unhappy to see some ships were nerfed/changed without any notice in the patch notes.

Mostly, I expect this is going to end up being an "eye candy" not that interesting for 70% of Eve patch. Unless you live in 0.0 nothing really changed (well, your computer runs slower because of the graphics, I guess that is a change for most folks).

Please CCP, think a little harder about how to make a major patch something most folks are jazzed about instead of yet another "fiddle with the end game players" exercise.

OK, two things that are great, eve mail and the IGB! Finally!

Starbuck
