Okay so looks like FU people are camping the gate just outside of Torringos. or whatever that's called. I've been away from this game for a while so im not too up with the times. Anyways, what they did was try to get me to join their gang when i was about to use the jump gate. For whatever reason that made it so i couldn't jump. And they blew my little frigate up. Is there a way to get around this exploit? Because obviously the GM's aren't doing anything about it. Thanks

I think the GM's may have something to say about it because it sounds like an abuse of the session timers involved with gang invites and jumping/docking.

I'm surprised this tactic has taken so long to come to light.

Yah i think it's hilarious too. Doesn't really bother me since I took out two FU interceptors before heading back towards secure space. Hope they do something about it. It's sad when the only way the FU can get kills is by using exploits such as this.

Not being stupid? excuse me? It's an exploit, for starters. If you're refering to me going through your sorry barricade as being stupid, it's not exactly hard to do so long as you guys aren't exploiting.

Auto-reject is my best friend too.

So that fixes it then? Sorry if this is common knowledge for all you 24/7 hardcore Eve players. I've been doing other things with my life for the last year.

Yeah, it does.

It stops all gang/conversation invites.

Does it just block the people not in your address book or everyone?

IMHO it should be a banable offence because itís exploiting the mechanics of the GAME and not the ENVIRONMENT. Nothing in the World of eve explains why you shouldnít be able to join a gang and then jump at the same time, it sounds like a bug in coding rather than the story of eve.

And itís just lame, please do post who it was and what corp they are in, if I was their corp director or CEO Iíd kick their ass.

Programs like VNC and firewalls usually give you the choice of allowing all with exceptions, or denying all with exceptions.

It would be convenient to have something like this added to the gang auto-reject setting, although it would probably require substantial extra coding.

Edit: Or even better, integrate auto-reject into the block list, and make that list configurable as above, as well as allowing you to block corps and alliances as well as individuals.

Having a toggle for autorejecting invitations in 0.0 space while allowing these on the inside would be a good first step.

Wow Stinky, your vast wit and intellect astound me. If only everyone had as much obvious cunning and grace as you. Maybe instead of being a jerk, you could answer the question or shut up? Did it ever occur in that hollow dome you call a skull that he wasnt around when they introduced auto-reject? or perhaps you are too much of a newb to realize it hasnt always been here?

Space Fetus, Petition will get you farther then a forum post ever will, and will alot fewer morons harassing you as well. Send in a petition under exploit category with the names and what they did. GM's will hopefully beable to help you by reimbursing lost equipment and flagging the offenders accounts for bans.

You shouldn't have to run around with autoreject on to avoid being exploited, these guys should be banned or at least warned for this.

I heard about that tactics months ago, it was used by a CA member. Don't know if he got banned tho... Maybe since they didn't use it much afterwards ^^
