Here's to hoping they pull their collective heads out of their arse and make the following changes...

-----------------------------------

1) Delay the expansion for a few more weeks to give 0.0 alliances time to actually figure out how Sovereignty will change their way of life (and allow them some breathing room in actually fixing below)

2) Put Mothership changes back on the table and start experimenting... rolling the ships back to 12.5 Billion, full complement of fighter bombers capable of approximately 12,000 DPS with max skills AND START CHANGING FROM THERE!

3) Fix the Naglfar to be a completely turret based bonuses (again)... albeit with lower bonuses than it enjoys now for balance sake (5% each sounds reasonable?)

4) Fix Citadel Torpedoes and Citadel Cruise Missiles to not totally suck against POS's, Dreadnoughts in siege, and moving Carriers/Titans/Motherships... ~Thanks!

5) If you have some time to kill for those who finished their updates in time to actually make the Dominion release date, would love if they could be re-assigned to Assault Frigates, Rockets, Alliances not being disbanded with the push of a button, and maybe fixing docking games too (in the hopes that the idea of 0.0 alliances can upgrade stations to allow docking mom's one day!)

Ah, I forgot in my other post.

Why not give the Naglfar 10% projectile rof and 7.5% target painter effectiveness per level?
It would quite probably be still more useful than the split weapon crap that is on Sisi now (haven't done any numbers). Which is sad.


Oh, and not doing anything to Motherships, resulting in them being 2-volley'ed by the new Doomsday devices, is bad.

Yes, poor Nozh, for posting a glob full of things so inept, that it proves he doesn't play the game. That's totally our fault for being uncouth barbarians who think his ideas are terrible, especially since they obviously come from someone who doesn't know what they are talking about.

Or do you pubbies actually think that dreads don't fight at short range or that things he says can be target painted actually can be target painted? It wouldn't surprise me, as you live your whole life in empire and probably have never seen a capital ship.

I thought with CCP making huge improvements on lag and things in general and we wouldn't be returning to the old days where the devs were completely off phase with the player base but then I see blogs like this and realize that they still have a long way to go.

The decision to not change Motherships was the correct one. But the changes you're making to Titans are equally arbitrary and pointless.

Neither Titan nor Mothership have ever come close to serving their original intended purpose.

The only notable difference is that Titans had a completely separate function that made them popular (glass cannon), while Motherships did not.

You could revert the changes to Titans and it would not solve the problem of having 300+ Titans in the game which are little more than rich boys' toys. In my opinion, removing AOE seems more like an attempt to curb their proliferation. It does this by moving Titans further away from being strategic alliance assets and closer to being oversized pwnmobiles.

But I have my reservations. For every alliance you dissuade from building a Titan, there will be 5 rich carebears who will lust for pixels harder than ever. There will be 100+ Titan builds in 2010, especially now that losing sov doesn't abort the ship.

When nearly every blog you release is receiving constant outrage at your lack of understanding of your game. Maybe you would at least try to verify things before trying again. But no.

Let me go target paint some sieged dreads, and then maybe ill do sweet damage with my nerfed naglfar that requires more training than any other dread. Hell yeah.

I may be a member of Mostly Harmless for the last 1.5yrs and various other alliances probably for a year before that, but Id hardly call myself an empire dweller. I also have had the pleasure of long dread v dread battles courteous of PL, Omam was alot of fun. CCP do a great job and like you just did they make mistakes be thankful that they had the intelligence to change their mind.

You're trying to explain capital ship game mechanics and balancing to someone who thinks target painters work on sieged dreadnoughts, motherships, and titans. I wish you luck in your long journey!

If you look at the proposed changes for torps, and the new cruise missiles, I think you'll see that they've more than taken that into account. They didn't even have to, missiles have 2 other attributes CCP knows nothing about, velocity and flight time. That's enough of a disadvantage for Phoenixes.

I'll be sitting in my Phoenix, waiting for the other dreads to recharge cap to jump, telling everyone how awesome my dread is and how I could, like, totally jump out alone... if that made any ****ing sense in dread-warfare Rolling Eyes

The primary issue with titans wasn't the number of titans in existence. It was the unbalanced Area of Effect weapon, the Doomsday that was the problem.

CCP made the right choice to remove the unbalanced doomsday weapon from the game.

I find it ironic that on the day Steam put up Star Wars Galaxies: Complete Edition for 9.95, CCP would post this. The game that coined the derogatory term "NGE" goes up for 10 bucks on Steam the day that CCP proves they were taking notes when Sony did it.

Heck I don't have anything to do with capital ships and probably never will but the utter lack of caring what the player base says is almost enough to get me to never log back on...

Oh, and since the XL Autocannons now receive all their tradeoffs directly in the form of reduced DPS output and range, does this mean the Naglfar gets an increased capacitor size and improved capacitor recharge to be on par with the other dreads, since these are no longer necessary?

Or are we still at Minmatar double penalty on 5?
