Obviously CCP is currently a privately owned company

Should they ever decide to float the company on the public markets, would you buy shares?

I would.

also what effects do you think this would have on the future of eve (and any other future product) would the short term cash benefit be nerfed a longer term negative effect?

as long as they kept the majority of shares it shouldnt be a problem.

They are better of staying as a private company. Once you go public it is way to easy to lose control of your company whether you want to or not.

Now they have complete control to implement their vision without outside interference.

No, I wouldn't buy shares. It's a niche game that tends to keep far too many potential customers away to fully realize it's profit potential. Bad investment, but good game.
