Updated sorry took so long been busy with requests for a ship not related to eve

=Original Post=
Well I have been a busy body working on other things and taking a break from eve designs for a while.

That is until I get a nice email about how ccp is stealing my designs?

Curious I investigated and bottom line I am more dissapointed in the person who informed me of the supposive design theft and even recommended I'd sue.

However I understand enough legallities that even if they did steal the design there isnt anything I can do about it, they're trademarked so anything looking similar to thier designs with intentions of matching thier designs its technically thiers already.

But thats not the point entirely the point is all 4 new fighter bombers do not come close to my designs as my designs are subpar. However to help shut people up I am going to make charts and what I think of it.

First up is NFX Delphi Vs CCP Cyclops

As you can see even with the gun weapon uninstalled it will take alot of changes to acheive similar looks mostly the engine block and forward electronics area. None the less the shape and silloute are the similar. because of that profile Ill be changing my deisgn so NFX response to this is the Delphi Mk2 aptly renamed to the
Hydra

=Update 15.11.09=
Next up is the NFX Locust Vs CCP Mantis

This is the only one of the 4 thats a contender, but even if you look harder they're entirely different ships the Mantis is far more bulked up for its size to handel the payloads where as the locust looks like a twig in comparison. Also the mantis has a higher dynamic design in terms of flow and profile where as the locust is only interesting in very few aspects particualrly the side and is mostly bland from the front and topside.

As for the response to this though I will have to redesign the locust and its currently in the factory right now getting paint and final finish, the new corvette is dubbed the Stingray and will publish it once I get it done.

I doubt they need that many concept artists tbh. I'd just like the ones working on caldari to go symmetrical already.

There are adverts about (I believe I got one in a mail on Youtube) CCP hiring more artists.

It seems like they are all for WoD and Incarna at this point in time.

Glad you settled that conflict before the forum gives birth to another threadnaught. People can get back to normal now and thats a good thing. In a few months we'll all be able to laugh about it.

Sorry for my sarcasm but I can't help and think you're displaying substantial narcissism here.

TBH it ****es me off when people try to give me more credit than I really deserve, even more if people have to strecth something of mine to prove thier point about it. What be basically said after the first two models hit sisi was that they basically unstinstalled guns and put missile launchers in its place. Which after looking at all 4 now doesnt seem to be the case at all. The closest of the 4 however was indeed the manits but there are more than enough differences to id the two ships seperately.

Reason why im taking a break from eve designs though is because I sorta ran out of ships to come up with game design wise. Other than Salvage Thukker ships and Mordus Hackerships and minelayer frigates Im just about out of ideas until ccp introduces more mechanics to allow for more play. Only other thing I can think of doing is fleshing out the pirate factions to the point they can rival the empire faction in terms of number of tech 1 hulls.

Nova and I share something that a lot of people don't have much of - modesty. Even if it seems forced, we know that we're not as good as we could be or need to be to fill the absolute requirements of companies we would like to work for, and that there are many individuals that are applying as we speak that are far more suited for the job.

As such, we tend to not want to waste the time of the people that would have to filter through portfolios to try and find the best candidates until we feel we would be worth their time.

Btw Nova, I picked up the Locust again the other day. Kinda got overrun by real life crap and learning some new things I wanted to try out, but I think I'll be able to get a fair bit more done to it now.

If I get around to it I'll go post some updates on Deviantart, but until I do, you can periodically check for updates on my photobucket profile and send me a mail (I'll pm you my email address on deviantart) with changes if there's anything you don't like or want added.

Once we're both satisfied that I'm done with the Locust I'll have a go at your other corvettes' designs, if other things don't take priority.

*edit* I'll send that PM once I find the damned function...
*edit2* ok, I give up - sending it via evemail.

Pro-tip: When it comes to employment, modesty gets you nowhere. There's plenty of people out there competing for the same jobs with far less skills that are more likely to get the jobs because they're selling their skills (real or imaginary) to employers, while you're not.

errr those arent even in my account. one is under A the other one is under Nekh Art Studio and both of which seemed banned or out of service. Out of thousands of users who constantly upload stuff and traffic Im surpised you found more viuses on the accounts than the advertisments that oftenly spawn on the website.

A small class of ship smaller than a corvette in classic navy terms, smaller ships would be a clipper and scooner and sloops (might be wrong there) which all dont sound like proper ship classes to be using for war, since eve's frigates are 747 sized this would put the corvettes more along the lines of Spooky AC-130s, Orion P3s and Hawkeyes E2s, where as a regular fighter bombrs rival a F-18 Superhornet F22 Raptor to the F37 Terminator (NATO desig, not sure what the russians call it) Sized fighters and the regular fighters more along the lines of the p38 mustangs or a6 for something albit more mordern.

The fan based design Corvettes in Eve share a similar role to the mentioned similar sized craft, Electronics and Firesupport the original corvette idea thread stated that the corvettes would be pod pilotable ships that you will want to assign fighters to as they synergize each other making the assigned fighters more powerful (at least to either rival the carriers own bonus or to surpass) and the corvette itself gets a boost to rival them. The bonuses would be based on what fighters where assigned, in our current example the fighters would make the corvette a poweful antibattleship weapon, where as if you assign it fighter bombers it becomes the bane of capitol ships. Without fighters assign they're comparable to newbie frigates in terms of firepower and defenses and can get blown out of the sky easily making it an expensive tech 1 clay pigeon.

I originally designed these ships near the beginning of the year well before Dominion was ever mentioned and when dominion rolled around we get a new fighter type that released with cyclops and then the mantis, it was then I started getting messages and emails from various eve pilots that these two new fighters look like the ships I designed. I went to the test server and I sorta got ****ed off becuase my ships don't even look alike nor are they even the same in terms of quality and well designed starships. However after the next two fighter bombers released I was hoping the emails would stop but people kept streching it, for example the malleus looks similar to the Amarr Testament Juggernaught Tier 2 Dread without the weapon pylons installed, and the Tryfing looks similar to an old tier 3 destroyer design that I myself cannot find on the internet anymore. So to that end I drew these charts up to show the differences in profile, obvious functional parts and will have to in the end redo my own designs to avoid getting into any unwanted trouble.

Anyways about asyemtry Im looking to probably tweak it after getting inspired by this plane here that actually once existed Voss BV 141 So the paint and final finish stage of my work has been set back at least while I work down the details.

And do those selling their imaginary skills ultimately bring the end consumer a quality product?

Thought not.

Don't get me wrong, although I feel Novafox could do with taking a course or two to get his works to look more professional, I still think that as far as creativity goes he has the right mindset.
For myself, I don't see myself being able to handle a professional 3D modeling environment with my current capabilities, and would only be a liability to a company like CCP, not an asset.

Simply by putting in an application, I cost them manpower in sifting through profiles; I'd rather not be part of a problem, and only apply when I personally feel I could provide them with something they actually want (or even need) - that way I don't waste their time.

So maybe modesty won't get me very far in the 'real world', but I prefer caring for the well-being of the companies I aspire to work for rather than costing them money.

Want my modest self sell? Here it is.

My imagination is bigger than what my paper or clock could handel.

I am assestable, just not in the field of video game development, yet, I got plans to be at least useful in one aspect for that they can use all the time when they're not asking for my opinions so might as well be in something I enjoy, I'm currently eyeing several art institutes and Digipen being the most promising at least for bang for the buck effectiveness there if not pittburge art institute at least they have an art deparment driven for industry unlike a few other colleges that have 'general' art.

Unless they want some insight on how a military organization performs naval duties similar to what eve goes though and practices mostly already (logistics and intel and the sort) I do have a secret clearance which costs 90 grand for a civillian to get, I have about 45 grand worth of training in electronic technician on avionics, leadership training, and some training on money saving business pracitices for the cheap (Im not licenced in those practices means they dont have to pay me to somone that is, and that there is a high 5 to 6 didget sum job, and the qualifaction is well clamoured for in the current economy, but seems ccp already has a resident airspeed/six sigma manager)

I can think logically and methodically in troubleshooting problems but chasing down wires and chasing down lines of bad codes are two entirely different things but I do have a keen eye for detail and I dont like when things aren't done right, then again in my job if it isnt done right it will kill somone.

Lets see most amount of equipment I had to fix and maintain in a high demand and high pace environment and is considered the second most dangerous job location on the planet to the point that I'm uninsurable by anyone but my employer is worth about $168 Million USD give or take a few million.

Thought I'm not alone in this endevour, during the time I had to fix those assests I learn enough about it on how it all works in theory together and it has immensly been an influence on my designing ships.

I have no problems moving to another country I'm well cultured and adaptable enough to make the changes and accept other people's cultures. I already visited several countries outside the united states and been to several states as well where truth be told cutlures variate between states too. Anyways I used to be able to speak enough japanese to get by though picking up items in a local store there, however I have forgotten most of it since I left that nation, oh how I miss her so.

I've trained people in my job, been considered a team player by my superiors and a hard worker and knowledgable in my profession.

I am financially healthly at the moment living with very minimal debt.

I am a video gamer that can find issues with games and always wanting a better experince out of them. Im a midgrade science fiction fan, Ill take it for what its trying to present itself as however I do get upset when it betrays that image.

I can be easily inspired on any content and I'm always thinking of stuff all the time. However my art skills are something that need dire improvment of.

and now to the funny part, I cannot think of a way to 1 up myself from this modest self sell.
