Peryner said " but they loop perfectly, and have monotone color. They move very very slowly."
Not on my PC they don't loop very very slowly. The videos we have almost do a full loop of the video before the fanfest video has even moved past the command ship.

I would be perfectly happy if I could just get them to play back smoothly and at the speed in the fanfest video. The fanfest video is perfect, one of the best thing CCP ever did. But speeding the whole thing up to fit into 4 minuets destroys the feel of the video for me. Anyone know how much to slow down the videos to match the fanfest video?

I persoanlly think 4-5 mins is pretty damn slow.

but that's my opinion, I really like them.

But here is the other thing you might not be thinking of.

I can go right now, and slow the video down to 20 mins for you. But it's going to be 700Mb a file, and it's going to take forever to render it too, like 5 hours on my system.

but your welcomed to go ahead and slow them down if your not happy.

or like I said jsut made it with fraps on your own. I think they make the best wallpapers I've ever had.

Is the Amaar original one 100% the same as the one you gave us, only the original is playing back at am much slower speed? In which case could you please say how much slower so we can re-edit it? I would love to see the playback speed just the same as fanfest as that was perfect in my mind.

I believe you are correct. The Fanfest stage version was moving REALLY slow. Like grass growing or ice mining. I think that, because of the speed and the size, there were a lot more frames and that obviously blasted roof off the filesize accordingly. I don't know the percentage speed comparison and I'm not sure the video guys can provide that answer. I THINK what used to take about 20-30 mins (?) was cut a bit and is now down to 4 minutes? So, if someone's really interested in redoing them, maybe a 5x to 10x slow down would be in order to get Pottsey his dream video?

Thanks for the offer Peryner, but I have a video editing machine at work I can use. I just need to know how much to slow it down. I don't want to have 5 or more attempts at getting it to the right speed due to the time it takes to render.

CCP vid is way better then anything I can do with fraps.

EDIT: Thanks CCP Manifest, I will try both x5 and x10 slower.

to save you soem time, take a 10 second cut of the video and slow it down 10 times and then slow it down 20 times. This way you only have to render a small part to see if it's moving at the speed your looking for.

as long as your system can handle it that's your best bet.

I wonder too if the AV guys at FanFest set up a pingpong loop over the first section of the video, too. Though that could just be my memory going on the wonk.

If you have success with this Pottsey, could you make sure the sound is stripped out and upload the file to evefiles for the rest of us? :)

And when I say massive, it made to be in full HD and as big as the stage backdrop--so like a bajillion MB file. Unless I am mistaken, nobody has a screen that big to show it on (except us at Fanfest). If you do, please send us a picture of you playing EVE on it and I'll definitely get you the original file somehow :)

Is that a promise?

got a question for you.

The gallente one is immpossible to cut correctly to loop. You have ti moving right into the fade. This means that my looped videos fade out at the end, so you made it so that it couldn't loop. : (

edit:forgot the question >.< lolzRazz

right, I was wondering if there was a chance in hell an extended version might be released that holds the final camera position before the fade out.

but it's not a big deal. : )

Sure thing, I wasn’t planning on making them all. I was going to only do the Gallante and Amaar one and lower the res to 1650x1050, will that do for you?

Saying that, I am having no luck my two test videos did not work. Slowing down the video is causing a stuttering effect making it look like you are getting 1 fps.

Well, consider they're running at 60fps (as the average HD display runs 60Hz), you're dropping to 12 or 6 fps at 5x or 10x. So you're going to have no problem picking up the frames visually which is going to lead to an apparent stutter I would guess.

We could really do with CCP providing them at the original runtimes :)

I'd also vote for standard HD resolution at 16:9 rather than 16:10 but maybe that's just me. I don't really mind much that the video loses a few pixels top and tail.

The videos provided are pretty awesome, but don't really suit the video desktop purpose.

Hi, on top of every post there is a link titled 'quote' which, when used, neatly formats the post you are replying to into a nice block, under which you can add your own reply. Feel free to try it out. Smile

I've watched Amarr, Caldari and Minnmatar and spotted a capital ship in each video, except for the Gallente one. Am I blind or isn't there in fact any?

Did someone actually manage to get the loop to move ultra slow so it makes for a better background?

This is some great stuff guys. I have been running the vids in rotation on my computers at work, and they have received many positive comments even from people who don't game at all; art appreciation spans all types, it would seem. The Gallente and Caldari ones in particular have received much attention.

Thank you again for taking the time to produce this stuff for your fans. I'm very new to the game, but I greatly enjoy the artwork.

I did not get the videos ultra slow like at Fanfest but I did get them slower.

Only CCP can give us the ultra slow fanfest videos. It's not possible to slowdown the videos more than a small amount without the shuttering effect.
