I don't know about the rest of the world but here in the United States

Why is it that I only ever see Americans on these forums who compare Eve to their country/legal system, and think that the game should be changed mimic it. (I won't even go there as far as 'I don't know about the rest of the world'Embarassed)

Come on.. this is a game. If you can't even open your mind to slightly different ways/rules of being in a video game....

But since we are so hung up on real life, I'd recommend a few weeks/months in a different country, preferably somewhere in South America, Africa or the far east (and I mean as an individual, without a uniform and a gun).

PS . '3. I am asking for someone from CCP to validate. If you aren't from CCP....I don't care what you have to say.' Judging by normal standards, I'd have to assume you are a troll, but in the context of the whole thread, I think it is possible that you may just be very narrow minded and not the sharpest blade, so I will humour you. I can't quite believe I am spelling this out but.. this is the c & p discussions forum, you are looking for the petitions system further down the menu to your left.

If you put on a few years, or get out a bit more, you will realise that half the people out there are of below average intelligence, but that does not preclude them from being angry or arrogant.

It's because Americans are pompus *******s who think they are better than everyone else and can dictate what the rest of the world should be doing. (and yes I live in the United States)

(Yes, I know he's a troll, and a complete moron, but I'm gonna feed the troll because I'm bored...)

You keep throwing the word "LAW" around in reference to the laws in EVE and trying (and failing) to compare them to real world laws, so let me set you straight, since this has been validated by CCP more times than anyone on Earth can count.

EVE takes place in a FANTASY universe. Thus, the laws there can differ from the ones here on Earth.

With me so far? I hope so.

The LAWS in the EVE universe state that when you destroy a ship, all of the modules and components that SURVIVED THE EXPLOSION in tact (i.e. the loot) are legally yours. If someone steals any of these, you are legally allowed to destroy their ship.

Still with me? Okay.

HOWEVER, the law ALSO states that any damaged components that are SALVAGABLE within the wreck are NOT yours, but are the property of whomever salvages them.

Just because a law in a FAKE, FANTASY UNIVERSE do not make sense to YOU when you try to compare them to real life does NOT suddenly make it invalid. This is the way the law in the EVE universe works. Get used to it, and stop making completely invalid, baseless comparisons to real life. That's stupid.

Also, by your lame "I blow up a car but only get the CD player?" logic, that would mean that, since in real life you have to PAY for the car you destroyed before the parts are yours, you're saying we should have to pay the pirate a salvage fee before we can loot his wreck? What? Yeah, you're an idiot.

If he wasn't trolling, it means he was trying to use EVE and CCP's stance on a game's legal system as a political platform so he could spew anti-liberal crap.

...really? He's saying that CCP is run by liberals because they have a game that is relatively lawless.

...a game.

i was gonna read all psots, but short on time.

i personally think it should start aggression from salvaging wrecks. i dont actually mission, i do ninja salvage though. and if some one agresses me in my salvager, i want to shoot him and kill him. so...aggression to me would be a nice thing, because it would give me the chance to smack that CNR out of existance while he is running his EA 5 of 5. of course, i loot the wrecks as well...but still. i am always game for ore and easier ways to get aggression.

but, im also satisfied with current system. if you dont like ninja salvagers...do it yourself, and faster. not their fault they found a way to piggy back off a carebears back.

Before you start to post here....
1. This is not an issue about shooting someone. There are already laws about that in the game.
2. Don't twist my words on the subject. It only makes you look like you just can't comprehend.
3. I am asking for someone from CCP to validate. If you aren't from CCP....I don't care what you have to say.

I don't know about the rest of the world but here in the United States if I wreck someone else' car I have to pay the full price of that car and own it in it's entirety. NOT just the CD changer(read as loot within the cargo). If someone goes to that car and takes the electrical system(read as equal to salvage.) I have legal avenues to follow for recourse. If someone goes to that car and takes the CD changer(read as loot in the cargo.) I have legal avenues to follow for recourse. The CD-changer and the wreck are considered to be all the same ownership. Nobody can run up and just load my wreck up on their rig and drive away with it. From a legal standpoint any item taken from that wreck(Including an Alloyed Tritanium Bar)would be an act of theft.(Is this different in the rest of the world? Comments?)

Wrecks are color coded. They are color coded to show ownership. This goes for wrecks that have things within the cargo and those that do not. If there was no ownership of a wreck then there would not be a need for color coding.(There is a warning message about theft of loot so the concept that it is a different color to protect people from accidently taking something is moot, bogus and weak at best.)

Why is it that in Eve I only own the CD changer? What if I own a salvaging company and what they are taking is how I make my living?(Read as I pay for an alt that does nothing BUT salvage behind me in missions that are done for my corp. My corp uses that salvage to make things and sell them thus thiefs are taking money from my corp. Maybe I shouldn't give CCP any money?)

Can someone from CCP actually vallidate this ignorace for meQuestion

Hold on, since when if you wreck someone else's car do you OWN that car?

Idiotic Real Life comparison.

If you want to go by your logic, then the wreck should technically belong to the rat you just killed, it's his ship you just popped, why should you get ownership?

Well, honestly, if it bothers you so much, why don't you DO something to stop us, it's funny how Europeans/American bashers in general really think posting petty little childish insults against America on Youtube, Internet Forums, OUR Forums etc. is actually going to make a difference, your wasting your breath, you guys have been insulting the American way of life for the last 100+ years and guess what, we've only gotten more ****ed off.

I'll take this opportunity to toot someone else's horn for them. The Usual Bunch of Idiots (TUBOI), while not carrying on its merc/empire wardecing, has stepped from its GHO can-flipping heritage into perfecting ninja salvaging into an art form that has led to the destruction of countless battleships in their local systems ( including a Golem and a Kronos. If you want pointers on this activity I highly recommend their CEO Damorris Laht or Alexei Antonov.

I run missions. I don't salvage, and rarely loot. Why is this such a big deal? If you don't want "ninjas" attacking stuff in your missions. Blow it up. Laser fire is free.

If I was to change anything having to do with "ninjas" it would be to give aggressive behavior in high security systems a slight bump in Concord standings. Like 0.01% or something. It would limit how long people could act all tough while stealing from little care bear miners, before you had to venture out into lower security systems.
