From what i understand you kill say 2 bs's and 3 cruisers and 10 frigates in 15 mins, the biggest sec increase in thoose 15mins will go towards ur sec.

So it'll be one of the bs's sec increase Wink

I spent most of the weekend NPCing to see how high I could take my sec status in that amount of time, and noticed a couple of things:

1. 500K Beast Lords gave me a 0.035% increase and 1mil Overlords were 0.045%, but 750k Lords gave me an 0.4% increase. Needless to say, Lords were my spawns of choice to be chaining. Very Happy

2. I did not get a sec increase for every ship I killed. Indeed as some have observed, I only got a boost every 10-20mins, usually the biggest increase that would apply depending on what I'd killed in that amount of time.

3. When hunting with a gangmate, we both received the same sec increases, ie the increase was not split between us.

4. Being a percentage increase, I guess it makes sense that I began to find I needed to kill more to keep my sec going up by the same rate.

IIRC cruisers tend to give increases ranging from 0.015% to 0.025%. I've also heard that once you reach a certain sec status, it's no longer possible to get increases from killing smaller ships such as frigs...?

Here's how it works. I am 100% sure. 750k and 1M rats give a .4% sec status gain every 10-20 minutes. The only way to recieve this gain is to kill the battleship alone and tank the support ships. That means NO SHOOTING at the frigates/cruisers with the battleship spawn. I would know because my sec status chart is full of .4's.

Looks like someone screwed up on the decimal. If it was 0.04% it would be in-line.

You might want to take a dose of your own advice. The poster you insulted was talking about the programmers screwing up when they coded the .4 in instead a .04. Rude... fool.

I hope that the 0.4 is the rite one and the others r rong, cos if its the other way round it would take u FOREVER to get ur sec rating up. Thats like saying to get ur sec up from -9.5 to 0.0 u hav to wipe out the angel cartel :/ and that would be bull****. Sad

Inccorect

You can shoot whatever you want within a 10 min time period, so long as you kill a 750k bs you will recieve a sec gain of 0.4%. I know this from experience as i myself went from -9.2 to -1.2 in a week.

The best way to do it is this.

Kill a 750k rat, and anything else in the belt you see fit. If you want to chain the spawn leave a ship, ideally a cruiser. Look at your wallet for the exact time you killed the bs.

Next look at your character sheet, and exactally 10mins after that you will see on the security tab, an increase of 0.4%

After this pops you are fine to kill another bs. DO NOT KILL IT UNTIL THIS TIME. cos if you do you will only recieve one increase of 0.4% rather than 2.

Sec gains are kinda messed up right now, i think they put an extra .0 on all the others. I hope so at least cos it took me many hours of npcing to get back to where i am now, If it was the other way round it would have taken me almost 3 months. Which would be totally insane.

Hope this helps, convo me ingame if you need any help

I would have to agree. Prior to last weekend I'd never killed an Overlord, and after learning of such high increases coming from 750Kers I was a bit disappointed to find that they were the exception from the rule. Perhaps 0.4% is too much, but 0.04% is nowhere near enough either - I can get that sort of increase out of a couple of cruisers in Empire... Rolling Eyes

In any case, Frakri's methods for maximising sec status increases would appear to be consistent with my own experiences. Recovering ebil-holics, take note. Twisted Evil

It's a percentage of the number you need to get to 10.

(10-[current sec])*[sec bonus]

example:
(10-3.000)*0.004=0.028 for me
(10-(-10))*0.004=0.08 for bad guy

So if you are at -10 it is quicker than for the average good guy. This alone should be enough for the pirates but no, they want more.

The whole 0.4% is quite obviously a bug and not a feature, I see nothing wrong with a known murderer taking more than a week of doing the right thing to get to positive sec status. :!:
