I think it means that Orcas will be getting a new ability; They'll be able to "scoop" occupied ships from space into a special refinery bay and output the raw minerals into the corp hangar.

I can see it now, great fleets of Orcas roaming through space, leaping mercilessly upon any smaller vessel and integrating their mass into a base stockpile. Once the stockpile is large enough a new Orca will be produced.

The Orca families will be presided over by a single female Rorqual, bloated and nigh motionless she sits in at the Orca POS and oversees the hunts. All female Orca have the ability to become the Rorqual but not many survive long enough to see this event, should the mother Rorqual detect that one of her young is coming of age she will be cast out or worse, cannibalized by the Rorqual herself, her mass reintegrated into the stockpiles.

Every three years the Rorquals mysteriously vanish for a period of time, sometimes days, and upon their return they are extremely tired and many even bear signs of combat, Nobody has ever learned where these behemoths of industry go or what they do but many hypothesize that there is some form of hierarchy above the Rorqual though none are clear upon it's form.

Non-capital industrial class vessels will become extinct with few being able to match the sheer ferocity of the enraged Rorqual in head on combat, her massive bulk winning most fights by simply crushing the enemy into defeat, her orca brood rushing to the carcass to salvage and consume it's components.

The male rorqual has never been seen and is said by some to not even exist, a fanciful hoax made up by liars and charlatans though there have been unconfirmed sightings of headless IteronV's found in an abandoned Rorqual POS, could this be some indication of the beasts' mating habits? One thing is clear, we're not going to find out any time soon.

Oh yes, you planet-bound soil-toilers, there have been a great many stories about the hunt for these beasts of the void. One of which begins like this:
Quote:
Call me Ishmael. Some years ago -- never mind how long precisely -- having little or no isk in my wallet, and nothing particular to interest me on the station, I thought I would fly about a little and see the dark places of the universe. It is a way I have of driving off the spleen, and regulating the circulation. Whenever I find myself growing grim about the mouth; whenever it is a damp, drizzly November in my soul; whenever I find myself involuntarily pausing before clonevats, and bringing up the rear of every rebirth I meet; and especially whenever my implants get such an upper hand of me, that it requires a strong moral principle to prevent me from deliberately stepping into the street, and methodically knocking people's visors off -- then, I account it high time to get to space as soon as I can. This is my substitute for small arms and blaster bolt. With a philosophical flourish Cato throws himself upon his sword; I quietly take to my ship. There is nothing surprising in this. If they but knew it, almost all men in their degree, some time or other, cherish very nearly the same feelings towards space with me.

Though the tale is long, have now some description of the chase of the White Orca by the tortured Orca-hunter xXAhabXx:
Quote:
As if to strike a quick terror into them, by this time being the first assailant himself, the White Orca had turned, and was now coming for the three frigates. xXAhabXx's boat was central; and cheering on vent, he told them he would take the Orca head-and-head, -- that is, pull straight up to his forehead, -- a not uncommon thing; for when within a certain orbit, such a course excludes the coming onset from the Orca's sidelong vision. But ere that close limit was gained, and while yet all three ships were plain as a Tempest's solar sail to the naked eye; the White Orca churning himself into furious speed, almost in an instant as it were, rushing among the frigates with open jaws, and a lashing tail engine, offered appalling battle on every side; and heedless of the autocannons darting at him from every frigate, seemed only intent on annihilating each single armour plate of which those ships were made. But skilfully manoeuvred, incessantly wheeling like trained blasterboats on a grid; the frigates for a while eluded him; though, at times, but by an armour plate's breadth; while all the time, xXAhabXx's unearthly slogan tore every other cry but his to shreds.

I can tell you now that the story does not end well for the blasphemous xXAhabXx, and even gallant Ishmael only on got out floating in his pod. But for this you will have to read the story in its entirety for yourselves. And it will tell you a great many things about the hunt for the Orca as well. I am certain you will be able to find the tale somewhere on your Neocom.

Without the "carebears", items would cost an arm and a leg or you would have to make them yourself.

I'm just not shortsighted and dimwitted enough to think that because someone doesn't play like me or prefer PvP that they suck at EO. I realize they contribute to this economy in a way that makes it better for me.

Now, this may not be you, Mr Reason (hehe, what an ironic name), but I see no notes of sarcasm; so I can only assume, at this point, that you look down on carebears.

It's really simple. I drag in massive amounts of ore per hour. That ore is refined and sold. A player specced for science and industry uses my ore to create ships and modules, which he or she then sells to PvPers who take them into Losec and Nullsec to get them destroyed.

We carebears have long been the target of mockery by the combat-specced players of EVE, but you forget that, without us, it would become far too costly and take far too much time to rat around in losec systems for you. Also, you might add that mining roids is boring, but so is gatecamping and at least miners are guaranteed to get a profit out of it whereas gatecampers have no way to tell if someone is actually gonna jump through that gate in the next few hours or not.

Also, I'm curious as to what a titan industrial might look like. Freighters have a cargohold which is even bigger than the cargohold of a Titan. Will we get a ship with a cargohold so big it can carry another Titan? A ship capable of wielding 8 Strip Miners? Or will it just boil down to 'A bigger Rorqual'?

It's clear, that every three years the female Rorquals disappear to the kitchen, the washing room, the ironing board to serve the mythic male Rorqual by making it sammiches, ironing its shirts, washing its underpants,etc...
