can anyone explain why the fit i have in EFT says i have 60,016 HP, but when i activate my DC-2 and look at the fitting window i only have an in-game Eff-HP of 41,652??

i have the same modules in game and in EFT and wondered why all my ships have a discrepency of effective HP?
anyone know why?

In-game displayed EHP are based on your "weakest" damage type resistance (apparently, separately selected for shield and armor).
EFT displayed EHP are against the selected incoming damage profile (default is 25% of each type).

So it's only natural to see lower EHP in-game than in EFT.
If you would enter 4 damage profiles into EFT (100% of each damage type) and select each of them, you will find the lowest one will match the in-game number much closer (there will still be a discrepancy based on the "other" layer, but it will be smaller).

The in-game "EHP" number uses your lowest resist on each layer, while EFT uses an even mix of all damage types (or any custom mix you prefer). Because of this, the in-game number is hopelessly inaccurate, so go with the correct EFT number.

Neither is "correct", and neither is really even more accurate because nothing does a single damage type. You can get correct numbers in EFT using custom profiles for certain NPCs and ammo types, though.

It does if you access the fitting window while undocked, and have the DCII running.

Right...the main point is, you're generally going to get shot with EM+Therm+a little Explosive, or Therm+Kin+a little Explosive, or Kin+a lot of Explosive. (Fight a lot of Caldari, discoships or titans in PVP?) The in-game EHP read doesn't account for any of that, while you can set EFT up to do it.

your right, spamming missiles is only good for missions and there is no place for it in PVP

Just for fun
Caldari Missile Boat:
Kenetic + (some Thermal OR some Explosive)

Caldari Rail/Blaster Boat:
Kenetic + Thermal + (some Thermal OR some Explosive)

Minmatar Anything:
Explosive + EM + Kenetic + (some Thermal OR some Explosive)
OR
Explosive + Kenetic + (some Thermal OR some Explosive)

If you are in a 1v1 and the minmatar pilot has had 20+ sec of warning that he will be fighting you, he may load the appropriate damage type ammo to kill you. Minmatar should generally have a small ammount of RP EMP, Barrage, and Phased Plasma.

So add to that Thermal + (some Thermal OR some Explosive)

Gallente:
Kenetic + Thermal + (Thermal OR Explosive)
Drones do all damage types but only two kinds of drones are worth fielding. And mostly gallente drones are used as primary dps for gallente drone boats, with warriors on standby. So gallente heavily favor thermal.

Ammar Lasor boat:
EM + Thermal + (some Thermal OR some Explosive)

2 Ammar Khanid ships:
Anything + (some Thermal OR some Explosive)

* drones are (some Thermal OR some Explosive)
