So you're asking everyone to play fair and not take profit so you can get a chance?
You do realise that amounts to them giving you thier money. Why dont they sell thier stuff and send the margin to you?

Either a very dull troll, or more carebear tears. If its the latter, i find it very sad you feel the need to whine on the forums from something as harmless as 'market-pvp.' Just get out of jita and start trading in stuff that you have the commitment to manage.

Either that or go back to WOW.

People have to start trading in other places than Jita. The trading in that system is built around the .01 wars! The very second you leave your computer, you stop selling stuff. You dont even undercut by .01, you undercut by .03 or .04 because by the time you finish typing, two or three people have already undercut the original price.

While this could be fun if you, for a change, want to do some trading that is (to an extreme amount) much faster and much, much more aggressive it is NOT possible to just setup an order and expect everyone to leave that market until your order is filled.

Also realize that with the brutal turnover in Jita, you only need to be on top for a few combined minutes each day to make decent profit.

Dont like .01? Leave Jita. This cant be stressed enough.

I believe the core reason for undercutting is nicely explained here:

http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1163645

Also - did you not undercut the existing orders when you placed yours?

dedication is what gets stuff sold in eve. the more dedicated seller will sell his stuff quicker. simple.

your post is like saying "damn, whats up with fleet fights ? by the time i come back from the kitchen with a bottle of water, someone allready podded me."

I nevar sell in Jita because I can't sit and baby sit my order 23/7.

I hit some of the out lying systems, post the orders there and let them sit for weeks.

But I use trading as a supplement income not as my sole source

I totally agree with the OP. Trading in EVE is so ridiculous! I place an order and after I come back a day later, I've been undercut! It's so not fair! CPP should make it so that nobody can undercut my orders.

If you don't like it, get out of Jita. Or at least don't complain about it here.

com·pe·ti·tion (kmp-tshn)
n.
1. The act of competing, as for profit or a prize; rivalry.
2. A test of skill or ability; a contest: a skating competition.
3. Rivalry between two or more businesses striving for the same customer or market.
4. A competitor: The competition has cornered the market.
5. Ecology The simultaneous demand by two or more organisms for limited environmental resources, such as nutrients, living space, or light.
(source: www.thefreedictionary.com)

The market in Eve is all about competition, not about playing nicely and taking turns.

I admit the 0.01 ISK wars annoy me to no end, but competition is a good thing for the market.

Just cannot understand why some people try to make fun of him/herself.

If you cannot maintain your sell orders, leave the place and go somewhere else.
Simple and easy solution.

Also, what's the purpose of screen shots? Are you going to post them and say "Hey! this guy keep undercut my orders and I cannot sell my stuffs! WTFLMAOBBQ!!!!!! ME GONNA RAGE QUIT NOW!!!" and show off how stupid you are?

Also, you don't ask diligent people in RL to stop working because you want to get more $/hour, do you?

IMO It's a real PITA but it's the way things are done until CCP changes the Market system. Whining about it (especially in this forum) will only get you mocked.

Personally, I think EVE would be much better off with orders that have a maximum of one modify every 12 or 24 hrs: you post a price and you can modify it immediately (or wait indefinitely) then after each modify, the server starts a 12 or 24 hr timer before you can modify it again. This'd put an end to the current sales determinant: "most time to play 0.01 isk = most ISK in sales" and change it instead to: "optimal price = most ISK in sales". This would also have an effect on massively reducing the number of database edits required for the market so we'd see some (probably minor) performance increases too. But that's just my 0.02 isk ;)

This would lead to a constant undercutting though, the first guy to put his sales at 0.00 eve time would be screwed for the rest of the day.

Having said that, when someone 0.01isks me, I massively undercut, he can choose to follow me if he wants, but I know my prices, and I know the markup between my buy and sell orders.

Then again, I dont directly sell in a hub, so I am not affected by the tight margins there, nor the station only buy orders, also I am not so much in the "zomg I must sell this in the next 10 minutes" market, more the longer turnover market, I usually check my prices every couple of days, and adjust accordingly, but it depends a lot what you trade in.

This would only lead to people selling their stuff in one item orders. I would predict a massive load increase as the number of market orders would grow exponentially. And again the people with time to trade 23/7 would emerge on top.

Never buy stuff from people who play the .01 isk undercutting game. Always buy the decent rounded out price that is slightly more expensive to no give them the satisfaction of lowering the price so cheaply.

Thanks you, but you know that when you do that, you buy from the lowest price, and just give the undercutter more isk ;)
