Black and White... end contest, gimme isk.

I know someone mentioned black and white 2, but I've never played that one. All I know is that there's nothing that makes you more evil than just hurling innocent people through air just because it's fun. Oh whats that? there is? Like sacrificing people to directly gain power power or having them worship you to death? Oh whats that? there's something more evil? Like sacrificing children gains you more power than sacrificing adults... yes indeed. You can always be a goody tooshoe and take care of your followers, but you're a bastard. Sacrifice the suckers and feed them to your giant monkey!

Like I said, gimme isk

I DEMAND AN EXPLANATION FOR THE LACK OF EXTRA ISK IN MY WALLET!! It's a game that lets you be as much or as little a bastard as you want and as far as I know you don't know about it otherwise you would already be playing it and not be asking this question.

The Guild 2 is pretty good, its in the 1400's I believe. You can play a map with towns that develop throughout the game, and you can influence how that happens. When you play a rogue (1 of 4 main class-things) you can plunder a building, rob it, extort it, burn it down, and you can also take it over and own it yourself. Its quite unique, and it'll get you hooked for months, at least. You can set goals for yourself, or make the computer set goals for yourself, or just kill all the other dynasties. You can also run for political offices and become king, eventually. I would definitely reccomend it to anyone.

This looks promising, i'll test it tomorrow night if I can get ahold of it, but it does look promising.

Keep the suggestions coming btw, even if I do decide deltore wins, i'll pay out another 100m for another good suggestion (I have to test the game first but, i'm excited ^^).

Just to say thanks to people for mentioning Mount & Blade. I bought it due to this thread, and am really enjoying it.

I won my first town tournament thingy last night, betting 100 gold on myself at each stage. Yay me! Very Happy

It's about the only game I've ever played where hand to hand combat actually feels natural. I still prefer foot combat to horse mounted, I haven't quite got the hang of the swing times yet. To kill horse mounted enemies I go and stand behind a tree, then chop them off their horses as the come around it. Perhaps I'm not the noblest of fighters! Embarassed

Could i reccomend sins of a solar empire?
It takes a while to get into each game but it is worth it.
Its a space based strategy game involving 3 factions. you train skills (like eve, sort of) and eventually fly a fleet into an enemy system and ****, pillage and shoot at a few planets. And occasionally pirates attack people.

Edit: forgot description of the game

Adding more games, so I might get multiple rewardsWink

1701 A.D. You play a colony in the New World, and you have to manage your empire to take over the map, a la Fighting. It focuses on economy, but if you trade a lot, you can focus all your energy on military. There can be pirates that you take over/ally with, Natives, Aztecs, and more.

Dwarf Fortress - Might not be exactly what you're looking for, but you can do nearly anything you want to do. You manage a band of dwarves in a new colony, and get them to survive.. or just die horribly. Then if you let them live, you have to survive onslaughts of goblin sieges, elf sieges if you **** them off, humans if you keep robbing them, but alas, you can't fight the dwarvesSad You also have to survive the many dangers of the environment around you, and make sure not to get your fortress flooded with water or worse.. magma. If you are creative, you can do a lot of things in this game. One person made the fortress play tic-tac-toe automatically. Others made a primitive computer. Also, you can settle in towns of humans/elves/goblins and use their homes as part of your fortress. Their furniture makes good trade material for the caravan in Fall.

Wow that was a long post.

Fable 1 & 2.

Mass Effect.

Maybe Vampire - The Masquerade too, but I doubt you can be a COMPLETE butthole there.

dwarf fortress sounds fun, but isn't it made entirely in ASCHII?

also, if i'm ignoring any of the posts above it's because i've already played the game and didnt like it or i'm bored with it, too many suggestions like that to name.

If you're playing mount and blade though, go to www.taleworlds.com and explore the forums, the native game is fun but modding is copy/paste easy and you can manage mods with a simple drop down list, and the mods are MUCH cooler than the vanilla game.

Great forum community so if you want to get the most out of mount and blade visit it.

I also have a small mount and blade channel on quakenet called #MountAndBlade at irc.quakenet.org (and pop by our eve channel there aswell #eve-online on the same network, which is if i'm not mistaken the largest english speaking eve channel in the world).

going to test the guild now ^^

If the ASCII turns you off, this dwarf fortress download has some good graphics, entirely livable. http://mayday.w.staszic.waw.pl/df.php - Its the regular dwarf fortress with a good tileset. It has actual pictures instead of ASCII. It has some screenshots in the link I gave you, so just look before you make your final descision

The guild 2 was a good idea, but the fact that i'm FORCED to only do one sort of business ruined it completely, the rogue bit is fun, but not standalone, and the other types aren't any fun without the rogue abilities.

bleeeeh :(

keep the ideas coming.

You aren't limited to one sort of business. You can marry and have children and control your spouse and offspring to use their profession too. You can also mod the game, if you look at the Jowood forums website there's a lot of mods.

OHH i figured out what you mean. Get a higher title in the main political building to allow yourself to get more buildings and to apply for office

Evil Genius - Evil Genius gives players the opportunity to take a twist on the James Bond theme rather than play the role of the good guy, your job is to be evil, nefarious, underhanded, and low-down rotten. The goal is, like with every criminal maniac, to rule the world. How you do that is somewhat up to you. http://pc.gamezone.com/gzreviews/r22634.htm

I'm looking for a game where I can be mean, pillage, plunder, sack etc.

Examples of this is dungeon keeper, but also the Total War series where, while it's not obvious in your face "oh you so mean" cruelty, you are able to sack, burn and pillage cities to make your own empire wealthy, i'm very fond of games like that.

An example of a game that does NOT let you be a bastard, is Overlord, saying "oh you're evil!" doesn't make things evil or mean, the damn game just sends you around doing stupid tasks to help dumb npc's so don't even go there.

So ye, games where you get to prosper by being a bastard, 100m reward to the person to name a game I get hooked on, obviously i'll already know a lot of the suggestions but you might get lucky.

Please add a description or url to a description of the game.
If you're looking for an RPG that lets you be a bastard and be evil, I strongly recommend V:tM Bloodlines. There are a LOT of dark themes in this game and plenty of moral choices.

It's buggy as hell, but if you can play through the bugs, it's one of the best stories in an RPG I've ever played. You can be as dark and evil as you want to be in that game and you are rewarded for it.

There's a lot of memorable characters and villains in this game. Definitely worth a look. Just be sure to pick up the official patch for this game.
