Hi all,
I've recently grinded my way upto level 4 sansha missions and i am wondering what would be better to do.
0.0 mining in the stain region (kernite omber and that kind of trash ore) or L4 missions.
I don't really have a personal preference whether its sitting and mining for a few hours or mission running, just wondering which is the best.
edit: sorry forgot to post ships,
2 chars, on missions id run RR BS's 1 of them with 2x tractor and 2x salvagers and i collect all loot.
mining, 1 char runs an iteron V with 30k ish cargo hold, and the other account uses a hulk with the top mining setup + T2 crystals. |

personally, i'd switch between the two. It also depends what ship you are mining and missioning with.
If you mission with a nightmare and mine with an osprey, obviously missioning is better.
What you should REALLY do though is get a buzzard and run plex's in 0.0 with your NPC ship, thatll make the most probably! |

Missioning in this case.
Mining is better than L4 if you mine ABC, kernite/omber and such have low isk per hour ratio.
Also when mining you must sell minerals/ore. Do you have a nice "sell market" right where you are or you are forced to haul this stuff to empire? Hauling med tier minerals is pain.
On the other hand when you mission you should loot/salvage so you could manufacture stuff (ammo/ships/rigs) and sell them at nice profit in 0.0, now especially with low/med rigs introduced they will be highly needed by 0.0 pvp`ers, new gold rush;) From loot you get all types of minerals, so you could easily manufacture, on other hand when you mine low/med tier ore you still need to buy high tier minerals to get nice manufacturing unless you manufacture only some specific types of ammo.

Why bother with mining if missioning provide suffic loot to be converted in minerals beside other stuff! |

Here's an idea for you.
How about you come out and live in my alt's wh? I'm looking for somebody to mine (got good ores out there), and run plexes, and whatever else a guy wants to do, so that I can start t3 production. It's safer there than a loan miner in 0.0, the rewards are better, and I need the help. :)
I'll pay a fair price for your loot, and you don't have to haul it out. You can join my corp, or stay in your own. I'll even sell you a small pos to keep your ships in. |

Well, according to my super-nifty hand-made mining spreadsheet...mining Kernite isn't too bad (about the same as mining Scordite (about 6% more isk/hr vs mining scord) but minding omber is complete crap. It is the second worst ore (Jaspet is #1, Hemorphite is #3) in the game ATM for isk/hr unless you are selling well above market avg on the refines. Like someone said, stick to ABC if you are going to 0.0, otherwise, stick to Veld/Plag/Kernite -Nam |

yes. also my profit calculator shows that kernite is the second best ore in empire to mine right now |
