After i have trained a skill it writes completion imminent which can last for hours! What's the point of showing learning time, when it's not the real time?

I've had the same problem all weekend...What I've started doing is checking to see when I get to the Completion Eminent stage, and if it doesn't complete in 5 minutes I start training another skill. As far as I can tell that completes the leveling b/c I show the skills as the next level up.

But this just recently started to happen to me..Actually once I started using my Osprey it started to happen...

as soon as the message ...iminet occures, u can switch to the next skill. there's no need to wait for it to complete by itself.

What if you need the skill before you can move on to the next ?

I'm waiting for amarr cruiser lvl 1 to finish so I can do lvl 2, and have been waiting for the last 3 hours.

Just change to another skill, wait 1 minute then change back to the one you were training, all will be well again :)

If I try to read another skill I'm asked if I want to cancel the one in progress - so will it work if I cancel it?

Make sure you do this by choosing "Train to level x" on another skill.

If you use "Abort" on your current skill, you WILL lose your skill points. If you abort it by starting another skill (Train to level x), you will keep the skill points and "completion imminent" skills will usually finish. Sometimes they'll wind up 2-3 points away, depending on how long CI status hasbeen there. (Only time I haven't seen the skill complete is when I switched mere seconds after seeing "Completion Imminent")

The fastest way I've found of switching skills repeatedly is to dock/undock after each change. You can change your training option again straight away I find.

Nice tips thx. I was waiting for about 45 mins last night whilst it said 'completion imminent' that was shortly before i got into my new ship, went through a stargate and lost my character.

This was replied to another topic but needs warning here as its about Completion Emminant.

I have been completion immenant for hours on memory lvl 4, so I switched to another skill and it reset my memory back to lvl 3!!!!!!
I now have to relearn the skill back to lvl 4 for ANOTHER 7 hours and 40 minutes. ADD the few hours of completion immenant and most likely another few hours when I get back to lvl 4 for ANOTHER immenant waiting period.

This is an addition 13 hours more then what I was told when I started training this skill.

Same problem here. I hit Refinery Efficiency 4, and got stuck on Completion Imminent with one skill point left. No problem, I thought, and started training Instant Recall 5. This did not complete Refinery Efficiency. Instead, it dropped RE to -3200, with 3+ days to finish training.

Somehow, RE was reset to finish training at the same time as Instant Recall. So now I have two skills training at once, and both are set to finish at the same time. Of course, I fear RE will get stuck again at Completion Imminent.

Docking/undocking doesn't help. Relogging doesn't help. The daily server reset doesn't work.

Oh well, at least it looks nice to have two skills in training at the same time.

Recently I had an issue also with training completion. I switched as normal, but this time it revered back to when I had started the training and didn't start to train on the other skill I selected. Now I have the option to train any skill, however, training doesn't seem to start regardless of which skill I choose.

I wonder if something may have been changed, where the warning of lost time is no longer a warning to be ignored.

Well doing these weird quick fixes doesn't seem right. When taking the advise on how to fix problems and it back fires so badly (Set me back 13+ hours in training[don't forget the poor sap that got set back DAYS!]) its just not right!
I really feel CCP should really be watching these boards and correcting, or WARNING of adverse possibilities, the solutions that we all have to come up with ourselves. I mean really now. If they can't fix it right now, I understand. If they don't know how to work around these till its fixed, I am puzzled, but can deal with it. If these work arounds that we all have to come up with ourselves are flawed we need to at least know this...

I won't be switching skills on the major 1 day plus training skills anymore. That is just way too costly and if I wanted to whine about the huge loss its onto deaf ears.
