hey hey

Current skills: 239 (skill points: 70,594,846) and i have a long skill training and its probably gonna take me over the over the 71mil clone.

when i get my ass podded will i keep all my SP or will i loose it ?

does the current skill sp activate in the clone or does my actual SP (in training ammount) count towards my current sp when i get podded ?

Pretty sure it's 10% of the highest rank skill.

I see most people lose BS 5 when they get podded.

Update your clone.

You lose 5% of the difference between actual SP and clone covered SP, taken from the skill with the most skillpoints, capped at 50% of that skill. So if you die at 71,001,000 SP, you lose a whopping 50(fifty) SP, most likely taken from BS V.

Dying while being slightly over a clones covered SP is irrelevant, it's dying with the default 900k clone that hurts. That's usually 1,024,000 SP (50%) of BS V, a solid 20 to 25 days of training for most.

ahh yes, im aware of the points > Clone stuff BUT if your current SP reads 70.5mil and your clone is 71mil what happens then ?

i am wondering if CCP account for the skill thats currently in training or not. consider that you only see the current sp and the new sp only reveals itself if training stops or the skill switches. IF i dont know my current SP then how can i set my clone acordingly considering that the information given to me is technically incorrect ?

Recent change makes training stop upon dying. But I'm not sure whether this occurs before or after the SP loss calculations. To the Sisi mobile!

To finally answer OP's question:
The SP counter in the character sheet only gets updated when a skill is finished/switched, so that amount is always lower than your actual current SP. The SPs that have been trained since you last started/switched training a skill have to be added to that.
When podded all your SP is taken into account, even the SP accumulated in the currently training skill.

if you keep your clone updated, you don't have to know.

Interesting, but wouldn't it have been better to pay 20 million for clone grade Sigma?

Just curious why you don't want to upgrade for 7 million more per clone.

My situation was that i got podded right back to the station where i was doing PvP from . I had this awsome Rokh all fitted out there and the guy was still right out front in half armor . So without thinking , I undocked to try and finish him . He was a good pilot in a comand ship , and the fight lasted a long time . At some point he had 2 friends come into system with Ishtars and 10 Ogre II's , and I was popped and podded again . 2 ships and 22 days lost = my worst day in EVE maybe .Yet the fight was epic and is still my most memorable Very Happy
