I'm doing lvl 4 mission with my friend, who is flying a perma-tanked raven. I'm looking for a fit that gives me alot of DPS, without having to tank (of course a slight tank would be great). And if you didn't get that yet, I'm flying a dominix =)

I hope someone can help me on this one, because all I found on dominix fittings are solo mission fittings.

Thanks in advance, Salanix Very Happy

Option A:
1)Sell Dominix
2)Buy another battleship fit for gank

Option B:
1)Go dual rep
2)Friend sells drake, friend buys something else.

If tank is not needed at all or minimally how about 4 350 rails 2 drone links 3 sentry drone augmentors, 3 omni directional tracking links, 2 drone navs, 4 mag stabs, 1 eanm, 1 damage control, and a 1600mm RT plate. Garde 2's, Warden 2's lights and meds to taste.

All gank litle tank. Haven't popped it in EFT but that outta be a lotta dps.

EDIT: forgot the durn drones Embarassed

I used the following fit solo on all lvl 4 missions, Due to the minimal tank you must turn tail and get range before aggroing, light drones take out any warp in aggro then its just a matter of controlling the triggers.

Solo it would be better to replace the damage rigs with CCC's and fit an AB to assist the kiting.

With the Drake taking most of the incoming you can safely damage fit the Domi and sit at warp in using the Gardes

4x 425mm Railgun II (Federation Navy Antimatter Charge L) Optimal range 42km
2x Drone Link Augmentor I

3x Omnidirectional Tracking Link I
Tracking Computer II (Optimal Range)
Cap Recharger II

3x Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
Dark Blood Capacitor Power Relay
Armor Thermic Hardener II
Armor Kinetic Hardener II
Medium Armor Repairer II

2x Sentry Damage Augmentor I

5x Hammerhead II
5x Warrior II
5x Bouncer II optimal range 103km 470 dps
5x Garde II optimal range 51km 538 dps

[Statistics]

Capacitor: Stable at 61% with the Mar inactive, 7 minutes with everything active.

Volley Damage: 3,979.56
DPS: 903.53

Faction fit will make fitting easier, CPU is lowered by the Sentry rigs.

You can also drop to 350 mm's and add a 5th turret.

Note that the above is with 5% hybrid damage and ROF hardwirings.

I personally use a Deadspace/faction fit so stats are even better than this and the fit is easier.

Despite the above excellent damage, I still prefer my current ride, The awesome kronos. Very Happy

Blaster fit will improve the Dps but for missioning I find the range too limiting, If/when we get MWD functionality back in Deadspace I may try Blasters on my Kronos.

Drop the two cccs for a second sentry rig and you got it :). If you realy go for no tank drop one more hardener and go for a third magstab.

I found probing ppl with a little brains tend to run if they find a Dominix in a mission, since it can be a really nasty ship as an opponent, you never really know whats inside.

slight tank? a simple dcII will do the job, as domi has enough "natural" buffer to GTFO if needed. but as far as drake tanks, it always have to jump in first, collect auto-aggro, and the domi will need no tank at all, if later aggro is carefully managed.

i usually don't use EFT, but this time i have no option (no client on this machine)... anyway all support skills at lv5 gives the following one tightly but fitting:

highs:

5x 425 rail IIs
1x drone link

meds:

1x 100MN ABII (can be switched to another omni tracking link in case of a mission where not much traveling needed)
1x sensor booster II (can be switched to another omni tracking link if needed)
1x TP II (nice addon for the drake's missiles, and also gives a boost to domi's DPS)
1x omni tracking link (in case you want to use mission specific sentries no more is needed, except if it's thermal, as gardes need some optimal boost)
1x tracking computer II (for loving the guns too:)

los:

1x DCU II (grants time to GTFO if ground gets hot)
1x RCU II (needed for the 5th 425mm rail II)
rest is MFS/gyrostab, whatever

rigs: sentry dmg x2

drones: 5x gardeII, 5x misspec sentry IIs, 5x med, 5x small (preferably t2) +spare ones

it's almost identical to the setup which i use solo, in that case i only fit 4 rails, a LAR, skip 2 MFS for resist mods, and use 2 cap recharger IIs instead of the sensor booster and the tracking computer.

i usually DPS tank any missions. in case there's auto-aggro too close i fly in in my ishtar instead, but with a drake tanking the above setup should have the best output.

Looks like a good one to me, I'm going to test this one, and some others. I hope I can get some lovely DPS out of it.

Why you wanna use Drake if you have Dominix (in L4).

Warp in your dual rep domi with rat specific hardeners, turn hardeners on, get one gun on your target to get aggro, release your drones and go watch TV, get back 20 minutes later and warp back to station to finish mission.

You should just get a real BS. Dominix is realy limited in its dps. There are much better BS's to fit for dps. The Dominix's strong points are its Tank/Drone veratlity with EW.

Compared to a megathron, for starters. If you've got the skills to get half decent DPS out of a domi, then you've almost certainly got the skills to get 1,000 DPS out of a Mega Navy Issue.

Here's a fit that reaches 1,000 DPS, still has a little bit of tank just in case, and has phenomenal tracking. Admittedly you probably wouldn't be using Javelin ammo, but still, I'd like to see a Domi get even close to this.

did you just get what you said? for starters, a Mega NAVY ISSUE?

I'm sorry, but maby you should consider the fact that not everyone can afford one of those, and looking at the prices.

also, I just tried to fit a NORMAL mega in EFT, and comparing it to some fits on this threat, and I noticed a dominix had MORE dps then a Mega!

I just popped it full of damage increasing modules, and so did I at the mega. But the Dominix gave more dps then the Mega, even without sentry drones!

I don't think it's a bug from EFT or so, I just think it's hard to get a Mega cap stable, not sure if I'm right about this all, but that's what I see.

OK, fair enough, it is expensive (although the price has come down a lot, they used to be a billion isk, now it's more like 350m). It's just that's what I fly (although with more tank obviously) and it is a phenomenal ship. The Navy issue has an extra low slot compared to the normal Mega which helps a lot with DPS.

The thing about EFT is that it DOESN'T take into account tracking. The Mega has great tracking so you will actually do the DPS that EFT tells you. The Domi has no tracking bonus so you won't hit as hard as EFT is telling you.

You are right, btw, that the Mega is hard to get cap stable, but if you have a friend doing the tanking that should not be an issue.

Where are your skills at? If you have better drone skills than gunnery (I've maxed out gunnery) then yes, the Domi will fare better.

Anyway, both are excellent mission ships, no matter what you choose you'll have fun!

gotta admit, my drones are a little low, but still my damage in a dominix is far higher then in a mega, so I'm just gonna get my drones up, and then it should work fairly well ;)

16 DPS more than your fit.

Edit: Fit will cap out after a while but should last surprisingly long in actual use, swap an Omni for a CR II if needed. Warp out and back if you get significant aggro, rep is for inbetween repping... OFC the Domi is cheaper than a Mega (And no use for the Navy Mega in this role, btw... All it does better is tank) and the difference in DPS will be much bigger when you switch out the silly faction magstabs and use AM like all sensible missioners-for ISK...

And tracking with Gardes is just insane compared to any large railguns, especially with the Omnis, so it's a non- issue that the 425's track a little worse than on a Mega.

I wouldn't fly exactly that myself but might use something close if dual boxing with a dedicated tank, and yes I've tried it in action... (I'd fit a tad more tank to not need to warp out at all but the OP didn't want that)

A fit close to this also makes for a very good hands- off 2nd/ 3rd account DPS augmentor, just set Sentries to "Assist" and/or "Guard" depending on the situation...

Sure, why not.

However, respectfully. What is your problem with it? It can easily be switched to a T2 cap stable without the cap booster if one prefers that. Also, besides your "grab aggro, deploy drones and watch TV" comment, I have not seen a fitting suggestion from you.

Thank you,

I'd go with something like this, only t2 fit, but faction magstabs if you can afford them.

I fly missions in my CNR assisted by an alt in a sentry Domi.

Once you have your Domi, train up to use sentry drones. Then train for large hybrids, then train up to T2 sentries, and finally train up for T2 rails.

Use your mids for omnidirectional tracking links, lows for a repper and hybrid DPS mods, rigs for sentry drone damage.

That's Level 4 DPS domi in a nutshell.
