I hit a bug where it locked the FOV (field of view)to a very tight angle. Maybe 10-15%.
Very disorienting at first , but after you get used to it it appears to have a more tactical advantage.
You can manually fov zoom by holding right mouse button in space, move the camera a bit while holding it, now hold both left and right mouse button and push the mouse up. If I could just lock it at a certain FOV that would be great. I've encountered this a couple times but can't identify the procedure.

Dunno about tactical stuff, but it does help make for awesome flyby shots. Hold down ctrl while doing the two-button stuff and it tends to lock it where you leave it on release. YARRRR!!

WOW, and show a lot more detail than usual! Doesn't seem to be a sure thing every time though.

I have never seen that feature before, but I must say that I am impressed of the visual impcact.

I actually think it would be a GREAT tool for those who want more immersion, if it could be locked at a custom value. Halfway between maximum zoom and current standard setting creates a much better impression of size and scale. I just zipped around a bit in my frigate and I felt really small and tiny. Maybe it would be neat, if that was actually linked to the ship size you are flying. Optionally, if it has to be. Cool
