Hi folks,

I've recently returned to eve after trying it in 2007, and I'm enjoying it much more this time around. Now that I've got a taste of the other MMOs out there, I realize what a great one this really is.

I am now considering creating a second account. However, I have a few questions. I'm hoping to become a mostly PvP character on this one, so I would like to have a money maker on the side. I'm almost up to running L3's in a BC, but the mission thing gets a bit stale after awhile.

My main questions are:

1. What would be the most profitable character to make? I'm not sure if I have the patience for a trader due to the .01 ISK wars and keeping up with supply/demand/trends. So, i'm thinking either an indy/miner character or a manufacturing path.

2. I would like to eventually pay for one character on ISK alone via PLEX, while still having an OK amount of ISK to finance pvp on my main.

What would be a reasonable expectation on the time investment to do the above? I.E. Hours to get to that point and hours that would have to be spent a month in game. Keep in mind I could still run missions on my main as need be.

Any suggestions and feedback are appreciated! Very Happy

I find running a Jump Freighter service nets me enough income a month to pay for plexes, even tho I just use plastic and would rather save isk for other things :) but the option is there.

Capital ship pilots are always in demand, dreadnaught pilots specifically. The training time is about 9-12 months, depending on what implants you have and how you make use of neural remapping. The most desired dread pilots are Amarr first, Gallente second.

Key skills:
JDC IV (V very desirable)
TWR IV (V very desirable)
Capital turret weapon IV
Racial Dread IV (V very desirable)
T2 sentries and T2 heavy drones for Gallente dreads (Drone Interfacing V is a given as well)
All gunnery support skills at V except the one with falloff bonus
Armor compensation skills at IV (V somewhat desirable)

You can also go the carrier route, with Gallente and Minmatar being likely the most desirable (they are the most useful in alliance warfare). Besides JDC/JFC IV and Capital Remote Armor/Shield reps at IV, Tactical Logistics Reconfiguration at IV (this is the "Triage" skill) is very desirable.

Note that the cost of the racial carrier skillbook is 450M isk, while the dread skillbook is a fraction of that. Once you have the Battleship skill at V and navigation skills, training from Carrier > Dread or Dread > Carrier is pretty fast, just a couple months.

Finally, a Gallente character on a capital skill plan can do just about anything you want in PvE - run missions on their own in a Dominix or support another mission runner with remote reps and extra dps while looting/salvaging.

I think I may have got ahead of myself or was too vague (or a combination of both)..

I'm looking for a more short term goal plan at the moment.. like within 45-60 day time frame.

In that short term, I'd say make a freighter alt, but I have no idea of the worth or demand. If you go that route, you probably want to go Gallente since they also have the largest capacity T1 industrial - Iteron V.

1.Missions LDO, 20 mil/h is possible for 1 month old character if you have a clue (that means read eve-survival, eve-agents, do your calculations for best value items for loyalty points etc.)

I have an alt turning out 120 Gyrostabilizers evry 2 days.
Nets me 67% more then what i put into it.
(so about 70 mil evry 2 days very casually.)
