So this is NOT a thread to discuss whether CCP should nerf the profitable lvl 3 and 4 mission in safe empire space. The question is what would you do when CCP decided to move all lvl 3 and 4 missions to low- and nullsec?

Be happy about it? Quit EVE? Back to mining? Nullsec rathunting to pay the bills? Something else?

Will it make you play EVE different?

Probably quit EVE as I want to play to relax, and I just want some slow but easy ISK from L3s.

Wait inside missions for pirates to kill the mission runners, just as said mission runner dies, attack the pirate or when he's attacking the mission runner...

Tho its more of a case of "IF".

If CCP does this, I will stop doing missions. Probably will turn to trading, mining the veld, or maybe some other career.

I mean, there are only two possible reasons to run missions: (1) to earn standings with an NPC corp (for jump clones etc.); and (2) to make some ISK. I already have +8 with one NPC corp, and since the first gank rupture that comes along can turn a PVE ship to slag, making ISK would be next to impossible.

Do you know something the rest of us don't?

Frankly it'll never happen. CCP may play around with loot tables and stuff for hisec missions, but they won't move them to low- and nullsec. If they do, they're stupid and deserve to go out of business. I'd quit for sure.

If CCP nerfed them to bad I would have to look at other options that will soon be available.

Where as I dont agree with the severity of this, I do believe that they would not do that. Missions are the staple of hisec and have always been that way. Over all money wise, running missions is one of the lowest incomes you can have in hisec though. It's just a very stead income for when you need it like RIGHT NOW.

I, like most other players, would prolly find another game to play.

On another somewhat related topic- can you name any mmorg's that have non consensual combat?
No- well theres prolly a reason for that eh?

This certainly depends on how they nerf them, doesn't it?

They could reduce the loot drops and shift payouts to agent rewards instead of bounties, for example. This wouldn't change the content much, but would change it's profitability. I wouldn't be affected too much personally by it.

Or they could move them to low-sec, in which case I wouldn't go with them. Missions being the only interesting way to make ISK in this game (in my opinion) would leave me with little to do. Because, frankly, I'd rather rat in 0.0 than try to mission in low-sec (unless mission content was drastically changed to accommodate life in dangerous space). I'd probably just get utterly bored and quit.

I would stop the auto renewal for me subscription and wait to see what happen after that.

Will the market implode?

Players number drop like stones?

CCP will add some stuff in exchange?

The move would be out of empire (so only 0.0) or out of high sec (sos till in empire)? Out of empire mean pirate NPC corp, people that hate me beyond any hope of a settlement.

Curiously, currently I am running a lot of level 2 missions as I am getting standing with corps from factions that hate me.

My income in the last year has been mostly for invention and trade and a little 0.0 activity.

But probably that too will be hit very hard by a change like this.

If they completely got rid of level 3's and 4's from hisec you would not be able to complete them with any regularity. Can you image what that would do to the rig market and the named market, and the mineral market?

TBH I'd be very happy. I'd probably head to lowsec and have fun engaging in small-gang/solo PVP against just about anyone who I can tackle (or who tackles me). For now lowsec is the playground of pirates with T2 ships and large gangs.

CCP doesn't need to do that simply because there is a natural inflation caused by the growing amount of players on tranquility.

So when did the four Empires move to nullsec? Also, there are plenty of Level 1 to 4 agents in nullsec already... we don't need anymore!

I'd probably quit. I play games to enjoy myself. I don't enjoy myself much when someone starts pew pewing me at times I just want to relax and do whatever.

When I want to risk getting my ship shot to hell I'll go to lowsec/0.0 or wardec someone and hopefully get a few kills in before I go boom.

Would help me in the short term as I hunt mission runners in low sec and also run the occasional mission there too. Overall it would likely destroy eve as most people in MMO's don't want to be challenged or have fun. They want to make lots of virtual money. Seriously, we can argue about it all day but in the end, the average <1 year old char is just in it to get billions of isk and lots of ships they never use. I know, I was once one of them Laughing. I also know plenty of people in eve who are still grinding away at it.

Missioning in high sec over the long haul is currently one of the fastest ways to make isk since your cost is only maybe 100k isk per mission that pays 20M+ (you rarely if ever lose a ship). I think the best thing CCP could do is shift the payment of missions from loot and bounties over to the rewards side. Low sec missions have twice the reward or more, but after bounties and loot it isn't that much higher. Best example of this is pirate invasion vs sansha. This mission on average pays 50M isk in 0.8 sec (including LP at 1000isk/LP) or 57M isk in a 0.1 sec system due to twice the LP. Changing it over to be mostly about mission rewards would make it so the low sec one might still pay 57M, but the high sec one would only pay maybe 20-25M which is still decent enough.

They should move all lvl3 & 4 agents to low sec. Also move all asteroids to low sec, empire just get hollow/barren asteroid (non-mineable) with some crappy rat spawn.

Maybe if you get a sec status change from killing in hi-sec/low sec you should have your ship transported to a prison system with no warp out gates, no wormholes, no cyno, cloud so cloak doesn't work, angry sleeper locals, aswell as the other prison population.

If players survive being logged in for say an hour they get warped out. If they die they get out, but they die leaving their wreck for others to loot ...

Stealing from hi-sec gives one 10 minutes in the prison system for being a lesser offence.

A free for all opportunity with many rewards on offer from others loot. Could add system effects that change daily so can't prepare 100% for what will find inside.

Its about as stuppid as the 'what if they remove lvl 3's and 4's from hi-sec' idea!

wouldnt change a thing for me, still would run them, maybe would get more people to do them, and insist on some pvp fittings in the group, all in all, i really like the idea :)

dont care becasue i already do my missions in low sec.
high sec sucks becasue the lagg, the loot thieves and the low rewards.

I would probably actually quit, for good.

CCP has been trying to push everybody into PvP for a long time, if they want it so damn bad, they should just remove CONCORD all together.

I play this game for the genre, not the PvP. If i wanted to PvP, id go play some multi-player FPS game.

I have seen CCP make some really stupid moves, doing something like that would be more than crossing the line.

I would say that moving L3/L4 missions to losec would require some additional changes in losec to keep the player base from revolting. I've been thinking about this anyway, but what if CONCORD response time was inverse to the sec status and player sec status? I mean set a baseline response of 1:00 (I'm just making up numbers here), and adjust down for system sec status (so a 1.0 system has a 30 second response) then adjust back for negative sec status on the pilot for the empire sovereignty (so a player with -2 status with Caldari has a 1:00 response).

It generates an interesting balance, bringing some small measure of response to losec (Imagine if CONCORD would respond to an attack in 0.3 sec - but in 2-3 minutes (as a baseline) adjusted for the player security status? That would bring a new level of complexity to LoSec and potentially open it up to more players, and make pirates have to think a little bit about attacking everyone in losec? I'm sure it's not perfect, but in conjunction with moving L3 and L4 missions out to LoSec you need to make it more playable for the mission grinders.

if CCP nerfs easy isks, then the supply of isk will drop. Expensive stuff will not likely cost less immideately, but in long term the value of isk may go up, altering the basic ISK/hour and isk/mineral rates.

So called stagnation, period of no sales, then deflation period when prices have to be cut down, after all a new point of equilibrium, where less isk is given for the same article of value (more expensive ISK)

Agreed, mission running is one of the main providers of isk into the game.
a) They buy the stuff everyone makes, so that effects all the invention / exploration activities including wormholes.
b) More people will be doing those other activities which would mean more competition.
c) High Sec Mining would be completely messed up due to over competition.
d) Who is going to want to risk marauders and expensive faction fits when they can lose it so very easily?
e) Traders with stock would end up getting badly stuffed.

Personally I'd sort out some of my faction issues on level 1s and 2s while I waited for things to settle and probably end up quitting, maybe mine the missions with my alt to have some kind of isk flow. I'm definitely not 100% reliant on missioning, but I suspect most of my activities benefit from mission running being in the game.

Anyone who want to force non-consensual PvP into the game like this is cutting off their nose to spite their face, and should probably go play Darkenfail.

My - what a provocative question Wink

I would look at all my options ... and then prolly cansel sub on all of my accounts - they will last a while as I sub in one year intervals. If I don't like the new EVE then I would need to find something else to entertain me at the end of my sub then. Afterall they would have at least one major patch most likely before my sub would run out to 'fix' EVE.

Ya see I don't like the blob warfare in zerozero. Been there, done that. It's just POS hugging and waiting for next fleet battle to happen or gate camping .... ie boooooriiiing.
