What are some little hints that you've learned throughout playing Eve. Something that seems small but always has some usefulness.

For me:

If you have a destination set, you can select the next waypoint and hit "Warp to.." and then once the accelerator gauge says "Warping" hit Autopilot. This will warp your ship to 0 and then Autopilot jump when it gets there. Sure this only works for the first jump but it can shave a good bit of time off your trip if you afk a bunch while autopiloting slow ships.

I remember when I learned that ctrl + e and ctrl + q made you do a barrel role to the right and left.

Holding down control and clicking items in overview causes lock (this took me close to four years to figure out for some reason)

Double clicking on wrecks in the overview causes you to fly towards them

double clicking on a ship you're not in in your hangar will open its cargo hold

you can right click on your capacitor readout in space and it's as if you had right clicked on your ship

you can rename your capsule

There is a "filter by cpu and power" setting in the market that can help you fit that last module when you've already got everything you want.

not sure if this still works but assign a mwd to the F1 slot then wedge it down, hit autpilot and as you exit warp you will mwd to the gate and jump - very handy for long trips while you go and make a cuppa

Something else you can do is when you jump through a gate you'll notice the background change to the new system. You can now right click and navigate the right click menu to find your next gate in your route. Hover over the gate just above/below it until everything loads (ships, npc's, gates, etc.) and select the gate to warp to 0. You no longer have to turn Autopilot on/off between jumps if you're fast enough at it.

Setting drone control to keyboard keys makes your life so much easier.

*edit* I too have my drone Agress set to E, return to drone bay is T, return and orbit is G.

Little known survival trick in 0.0:

Sometimes you want to travel, but you can't scan the outgoing gate without warping to it, because it is not near a celestial. You see reds in local, you know they might be camping somewhere..

As warping takes cap, you can drain it to next to 0%, and engage warp. With some training you can warp with surprising accuracy, especially in small ships. That is, as long as you're not capstable, of course. That way you can get yourself to within scanrange of the gate, and check for bubbles.

Also, a surprising amount of pilots does not know, that while bubbles might drag you out, they won't drag you if you engage warp before the bubble is deployed. And as you can see dictor bubbles on your directional, you can usually just refresh your scanner until you see no bubbles on it, engage warp, and land on 0 on the gate.

ALT+E here, which again, shows that there's something compelling about using E for the drone attack command.

My tips.

Having your guns loaded with ammo helps your DPS greatly, especially if it the correct ammo.

Drones are just a waste of cargo space, far better to have them in the drone bay.

Nossing members of your own gang tends to result in heated words and is best avoided.

Always have planets on your overview, so that when you are about to die you can select one easily and spam the warp to button, so saving your pod.

lol if you had ever flown a retriever u woulda known about that cuz that damn barge takes like 3 warps to across any large system.

If you hit warp thej get new orders/spot hostiles in local or don't stop your AP intime you can ctrl+space to stop your ship.

When sending isk/trading, if your like me and have difficulty reading numbers with alot of zeros in just click the space below the type rectangle and it automaticaly imputs the decimal points for you.

I thought that was fixed in one of the recent patches? Have you tried this out recently?

The gallente noob ship has 10m3 of dronespace, which means you can have some pretty lul-worthy fleets of noobships with warrior IIs.

dont trust the official documentation on anything important. a lot of it is false. always verify independently, especially if it deals w/ a pos.

I most of the time just set a destination at a system's gate i know that is (or might be) clear, and turn on auto pilot when im about to die Very Happy

Saved my brand new implants (lost the previous with auto pilot on as well but in a bubble ^^) 2 days ago in a lagfest. Client froze when i saw like 20+ people targetting me and after like 1 minute i see myself in a pod 15km from the gate. Warp to planet, warp back to gate, jump, escaped. Very Happy

If you're gonna do small hints, do them properly... Like this:

If you want to semi-afk a trip; set the destination and as soon as you click warp-to-zero on the gate, turn on the autopilot. Then right-click the gate and set it as the first waypoint. The ship will stop after it has jumped through, and you may repeat for the next system at your leisure.

confirming that we need to make a ALT+E meme as i too have that as drone attack
(i have return to bay as R and orbit as O)

PS we need a fricken hotkey for mining drones as Alt+E just confuses them (that'll be ALT+M Cool)

YOU ARE ALL DOING IT WRONG

Ctrl-D - Drones Engage (D is for DRONE!)
Ctrl-E - Drones Return to Bay
Ctrl-R - Drones Return and Orbit

Friggin works.

I use ALT+E for drone attack too.

My hint:

Warp to the gate and then fly PAST it 15km. Bookmark it and name it X (gate) from Y (location). This way you can set up an instant warp bookmark for every gate in 0.0 and avoid warping to gatecamps. This also works well in highsec if you have a regular trade route.

If you have to transport something somewhere it helps to have it in your ships cargohold.

The amount of time i have got to Jita to sell something, opened up my cargohold only to see it empty is rediculous.

1) Never use AP if you have something valuable in the hold, in fact dont use AP.
2) In low/null sec web frieghters to insta-warp them (does this still work?)
3) If at war, in low/null sec watch local like a hawk.
4) Be nice to pirates, they have feelings too, and you might get to keep your pod/ship. Read C&P to see which pirates dont honour ransoms then self desctruct.
5) if your going to loose your ship eject with 20-30% struct, and warp to gate/planet, you might keep your implants.
6) if at war, Make a bookmark 300km straight in front of the station un-dock, and warp to that first, rather than a gate, especailly if war-dec'd.

And most important of all, dont go emo in local, griefers love it when you do, deprive them of the pleasure of tears.

If you spend a lot of time in one system, make sure you take some time out to rename your bookmarks. Nothing worse than rightclickin in space and seeing 15 "Spot in xxx system" bookmarks

Ctrl-Space stops your ship and cancels warp if it's been activated and you're still aligning. Also, last time i checked, ctrl-space shortly after undocking keeps the 30sec invulnerable timer running.

Ctrl-Shift ASD for drone attack orbit and return Embarassed

The active modules fitted can be dragged around in space so you can activate lowslots with f1, f2 if you so wish
