Last time I complained in this forum, it was to laugh at the fact that Mission ships were able to inflict damage to ships over 170km away with lasers.

Today its about these amazing ships, that can scramble you at 100km+ distances. I know were not suppose to say anything, but the modules(which never seem to make it into looting) are nothing short of astounding! Laughing

120km scram? 50-60km seems to be the maximum for battleships. Not farfetched considering the gallente t3 ship can warp disrupt up to around that range with shiny mods.

If the regular rats didn't cheat, they would be ridiculously easy to dispatch.

So true..

However, if the rats used better tactics, they wouldn't have to cheat.
Ex: How many NPC's would it take to give a player a hard time(for real)? I guessed 3
It's to bad too, because just a touch of decent AI and we would could all become very well trained for PVP. In essence, missions could encourage and prepare players for more PVP than the current trend. All CCP needs to do it hire someone(like myself for example) to code up some real NPC AI :p and introduce players with a risk free mission system(choose from a roster). It's so painfuly obvious that it hurts to think about the way this area of the game is actually being run(shame).

Would your AI include the option to "leave" the scene if the odds against them were to strong?

Because...if faced with a relative certain death....most "pvp'ers" will use that tactic if it's an option.

I'd wager with you behind the wheel....no one would get past level one missions....how many "velators" would just leave the mission area when someone showed up?

CCP have already coded a better AI, and they're using it in the Sleepers. They have no plans to introduce the better AI to normal missions.

In the meantime, the dumb NPCs in missions and belts can instantly target you at infinite range, use webs and scrams at insane ranges, shoot drones from point blank range with large artillery, change water to wine and raise the dead.

That's just life in computer games :)

If regular rats fitted more than 1 gun/launcher each they might be remotely challenging even without cheating.

you could put the best pvpers in eve in the mission npc ships, and with only 3 of them they couldn't do **** to about 90% of pve boats.

now if they did a bit more damage then sure maybe, but that has nothing to do with ai.

Nah you missed the last meeting. They are now adding AI to every NPC in the game including those pesky transport ships which now also have 8 cruise launchers as well.

NPC rats simulate ISK buyers quite nicely - great mods installed but not much sense in the way of tactics. Laughing

That's not a grid issue, that's a desync of sorts.

I had a Tempest blow up in front of a station, after leaving warp, from missiles that were fired from within a mission 4.2 au away.

I hate to say it but this is a PvP game. The PvE is only here to provide funds to be able to PvP, also as a means of increasing sec status if you PvP in lowsec but don't want to be -10. If you want challenging PvE you might want to go elsewhere, because I don't think CCP will bother making PvE interesting. Neutral

If eve had proper AI, regular rats wouldn't need to cheat.
