This was talked about before...

Ricdic is stepping down as CEO of EBANK due to RL commitments. However, he still wants to be involved in the secondary markets, and this is a vehicle to do so. This is Ricdic's project, just like my own project (which I'm still working on) will run separately from EBANK.

People need to remember something very important; EBANK Staff and Directors can and do run their own personal projects while participating in EBANK.

I understand that.

I suppose Iím just curious why an entity with a successful business that has more customers than it can service and has unused capacity to expand would instead consider renting those unused facilities to a competitor rather than expand.

It probably doesnít matter but the mechanics of the process make this an unresponsive business Ė four months is a long time in Eve. If something did change and Titan BPO copying became a bad business then potentially there are conflicts of interest between Ebank Ricdics Ebank business and Ďnormalí Ricdics other Titan business.

Similarly renting lab space from Ebank is fine when things are going well but I wonder if there are potential problems if something unpleasant hits the fan with this market and Ebank needed to protect its own interests in this market.

I think you missed the part where Ricdic said this was his personal project and not an EBANK project. Yes, they may share facilities but I think that's reasonable. I'd be interested to hear why you might think it's unreasonable.

I donít think itís unreasonable.

I think itís a potential conflict of interests.

I tend to disagree, I see it as a mutual partnership despite being in the same sales field.

There is obvious enough demand to go around, and the benefits to keeping Ric in the loop and around Ebank despite not being in a CEO role is great. There are also added benefits to the secondary market as well. Which can only help everyone here.

Its in Ebanks best interest to keep him around as much as possible even if he would be a competitor.

Think of it like this. They'll both be selling waffles, hot delicious syrupy waffles. Ebank will just be selling their waffles in a different state than this bond offering. This situation being in a land without waffles.

/no waffles

Hexxx kinda responded on a different level but I think this is the response you were more after.

Whilst this is a fairly healthy area of investment it is also extremely non-liquid. A run on the bank makes liquidation very hard (pull job from lab losing profits, try and sell bpo at a likely slight loss).

Ultimately if EBANK had the exchange active a bond would be the perfect vessel for this operation (and was discussed in detail internally in the past). Frankly though we don't know how long it will take for the exchange system to be done and the current EBANK model cannot support mass investment into this field (currently we have about 10% of our Net Worth in this area) due to the reasons provided in previous paragraph

That seems reasonable, thanks for the clarification.

My concern was the reason I asked how many and which ones they are going to buy. Buying/Copying or building a titan that no one flys/uses is the same concern "What happens if you buy the titan that no one wants?".

The concern I had was I could raise 40 billion in isk but I wasn't sure which titan BPO to buy. I know the levi and the erebus show up in the kill mails but what about the avatar? I'm sure not many use the ragn but the problem is picking the right BPOs because if you pick the wrong ones it will be 67 billion isk mistake or just a possible 50 billion isk mistake.

Those are my thoughts on this as I was looking at researching and copying supercaps. I would hope that the OP would have a better idea on this as the op said they are looking at getting 2-3 BPOs so I believe that answers the question of which BPOs to buy. For a single buyer its hard to guess and go with such a big risk.

Latest update:

- Corporation created: Titan Bond (TBOND)
- Default Shares: 1,000
- Share vote currently proceeding to add 328
- Will bring total shares to 1,328 @ 100m each = 132.8 billion

Top post will be edited shortly to open options for purchase.

Changes/Modifications:

1) After an EBANK vote the BoD have accepted the usage of the currently utilised POS for this venture on the conditions that:

- A different NPC station is used to house the BPO's
- A fee is paid for POS usage (payable by myself, not investors)
- A different corporate wallet is used for all corporate transactions
- Funds are recieved by this character Researching Duchess and then moved to the corporate wallet hangar dedicated to the venture.
- EBANK owned assets take priority. In the event of a market downturn if a quick exit plan is required then EBANK assets (5 bpo's) will be prioritized for sale. This was a clear condition put down by the BoD so bond investors should do so knowing this is the case.

On the flip side:

- The POS is already active and rearing to go
- Saves a lot of logistic requirements getting a second POS operational
- Votes are already split amongst staff to protect EBANK owned BPO's. These will be no different except residing in a different station in system so staff can distinguish between the two venture assets.

Current shareholder list of the BPO Holding Corporation:

Athre - 200
Hexxx - 200
SencneS - 200
Mr Horizontal - 200
Selene D'Celeste - 200

This is of a total 1000 shares in subsidiary corporation

Hit by a bus - Anastasia Heron (EBANK Director) has advised he can fill the position of director inside the EBANK subsidiary corporation. This means if I am hit by a bus the shareholders (listed above) can vote him into CEO so he can move things where they need to go, pass to another staff member for liquidation etc. I don't plan on being hit by any buses however and I always look both ways.

Remember, TBOND is only a holding corporation. It's only job is to sell shares (bonds) and pay dividends. It will pay a 12% per 3 months dividend so with this startup being 132.8 billion its first dividend will be 15.936 billion (assumes no expansion through first 3 months) payable between 1st-7th September.

Reservations are acceptable however if not paid by the 7th of the month they may be rejected.

Post 1 will be updated momentarily. I will request at least one current EBANK subsidiary shareholder come forward to confirm they have the advised shares in their wallet however in the meantime this should suffice:

Screenshot of shareholders

Please don't send funds until post 1 has been updated.

I have a question; how much of EBANK's isk could you walk away with, if you chose to do so today? Is it more or less than the isk being collected for this bond?

If I were to walk away now I could probably take 300b off EBANK.

It's part of the reason I will make sure to move 150b or so to Hexxx and Mr Horizontal before I start taking investor funds, to show it would be pointless to scam :) Can't be too careful.
Why don't you just walk away with 300 B ISK and sell your current characters? Or biomass them lol. With 300 B ISK you could pvp with T2 fitted ships for years, enjoy of the game. Without the feeling of having second job Laughing

Come on! Free yourself! YARRRR!!

P.S, send couple billions to me as fee of this brilliant protip.

I assume this should be every 4 months rather than every quarter (3 months).

As much as I'd love a place to put a chunk of my idle ISK... and as much fun as it would be to fund this entire project myself... I've always believed Titan copying is not a good long term investment idea. It may be fine currently but I fear for its long term viability.

I'm sure because its ricdic there will be lots jumping on this... but considering my own several month absences due to RL I am also very hesitant to invest in someone else who is getting busy with RL. It's VERY easy to just slip away and not come back... even though you are sure you won't just weeks or days before it happens.
