Can we please pretty please for the love of any applicable God have a way to turn off the new graphics effects on scan probes?

I've gone from being able to scan with eight probes while watching a DVD at the same time to running nothing but EVE and still having my client hang for the fifteen seconds it takes for the 'probes warping' process to finish.

It even hangs when I drop out of the map mode, which is utterly ridiculous.

Being able to hide scan hits is fantastic, being able to bookmark at distance is even more fantastic, please fix this horrible mess that makes the whole thing unplayable :(

The blue bar is teh win, fits in with those on the fitting screen.

I see CCP making all bars like this. It's good to have a consistent UI.

- The new container graphic is alright. I'd add some hash marks and probably make it narrower, vertically, just to keep it in line with other graphics in-game. All that said, please give us an option (right click or esc menu) to use the old textual representation, should we choose to.

- The preview option is spectacular. Simple, straightforward, and we get to look at ships that normally we might never see. That said, should you be bored and with spare time, allow us to change the background system, possibly even advance it into an in-game EFT substitute so that we can test fantasy fittings. This would all be fluff, no doubt, but fun fluff.

- The lighting changes to stations is great.

- The search options for containers and windows is obscure and hidden. It takes up more space, when it could be sorted to a drop down menu or an option button. It also needs to be labeled.

- On principle, I love the additions to the T3 cruisers, as well as the changes to stealth bombers. I have not, however, tested any of these and cannot comment on how practically useful these changes are.

- Please consider adding a separate sound setting specifically for in-station noises and background. So far, my sound is great, but those atmospheres are still loud.

More feedback to come, as I find new stuff, hehehe ...

The auto-patching client which runs from launch of the game crashed just before the end of the download.

*whoosh* goes 250mg of download for this month :(

I'm running an almost fresh (only a week old) install of XP.

meh, this new patcher is b0rked.

All 3 Apocrypha patches (inc the original) so far have had to result in a fresh install on my Vista x32 system Sad

Good patch and the process worked very smoothly for me.
I've got one issue though. The probe graphics are terrible. They look bad and they destroy the performance of good systems.
It's a UI that some players spend a lot of time looking at. It needs to be responsive and clear.

Overall: awesome.

I agree with others that the container capacity graphic is ugly though. It really could have used a bit more TLC.

Stealth bombers: So they can fit covert ops cloaks, but what about CPU use? Nothing in the description says they grant a bonus to covops devices.

Also: *REALLY* liking the new capacitor information in the fitting screen. I can't wait until all the other bells and whistles are implemented so I can finally ditch EFT.

Keep up the good work guys

most of my sentiments have been voiced already, but here they are again:

the probing UI/graphics needs some tweaking... with a crowbar

the dim stations fit the mood of outer space, I like it

The blue bar on the cargo hold now is really disgusting. I'm not sure how this made it in, or who even considered the possibility that this was better than the original orange bar.

I realize alot of time and talk goes into making changes, and so they rarely get removed, but if this change cannot be removed, can I at least hide it, or could you please do some work on it to make it not stick out like a sore thumb?

P.S. - Dimming the stations was a wonderful idea. The stations haven't changed a bit and yet look 100% better. Good work!

Ship preview - GREAT!!! Scan probe graphics is way too visually aggressive. Stations interior... well Minmatar are so dark they look abandoned and lifeless, I almost feel like buried.

Please fix the probe graphics. Almost impossible to see where the probes are and move them araund cause of the mess bubble graphics you've created.

And the results. If you have 3 probes overlapping, you only see 1 of the results, sometimes the wrong one.

Here's my feedback:

EVERY SINGLE TIME there is a significant patch/change/upgrade, SOMEHOW all my station configuration data is lost.

This sucks.

But what makes it worse is the STUPID way that ALL my containers default to locked all over again. WTH does this happen?

It is no secret that I've been complaining about inventory management endlessly, but GET A FREAKING CLUE. Either fix it so we don't have to fight with the damn Station containers (aka Fix the Freaking inventory management) or Allow for more PERMANENT settings on the required Inventory management workarounds. If you can't make the dame things REMEMBER to stay unlocked then offer a NON-Secure Station container.

The game is great, your execution leaves a lot to be desired when you repeat the same "mistakes" over and over.

I hope the blue bar is some kind of bug, I'm sure they will fix it, it is like some kid broke in the office and played with UI developement tools.

Speaking of bars, please make the power and cpu indicator colors something not dirty looking.

I saw a very cool "new new warp effect" in youtube, what happened to that?

Bring back the old cyno effect, please.

It looks like an unfinished-untested work right now, ui_cmd_bla_bla_bla labels everywhere, or is it just my corrupt patch?

Last but not least, "do improve" the effects, change it sth clearly superb compared to the old one, or do not touch it. Or is it too late to tell this?

If sth is a change, not improvement, make an option to choose.

warp effect - i still prefer the old-old one

eye murdering sensor booster effect - awesome cool effect but in the wrong place and time

constantly changing probe effect - i prefer the first one

blue cargo indicator - seriously, it should be a bug, keep the old one, nothing was wrong with it

cyno effect - bring it back

Vanishing Point.

Scan probe's graphics... oh dear.
They are ugly by itself, but especially annoying when zoomed in. That "persian rug" pattern should at least scale properly when zooming. Of course, much better would be to kick it out whatsoever, together with that kid you hired to create it and gave him Photoshop for the first time, so he got excited too much.

It is hard to see overlapping areas when using 4 probes, and it is even harder to see drag arrows now. They became dark-grey under certain circumstances, and barely noticeable under that visual mess.

And again, I know, Photoshop is amazing toy when you see it first time.. but can your kids play not on my eye's expense, please ?

1. Bombers are now FOTM, covops cloak makes them overpowered.

2. Address book is bugged and bordering worthlessness. If you have any mercy, you'll fix it.

3. Had solarsystem view bug up on me and fail to render icons after a probing session, fixed with jumpout.

4. New cargohold indicators are hard to read because of white text on light blue. Could also show cargo remaining for more usefulness.

5. The new probe sphere and effects on the solarsystem map are MUCH worse. Either revert back and do nothing, or do it right.

Oh yeah, the whole mess of ECM changes is horrible. You could've just dropped Falcon strength by 5% to where it was before it became FOTM and on par with Rook. EW in EVE is probably the most unrefined, stupid and boring part of combat.

Sphere graphics are hidious. Unbelievable this got approved.
Probing filters don't work. (at least the ship ones).
And it feels like the narrowing down of the target is bugged as well. however, i might be messing up because i can't SEEEEEE what i'm doing because of the horrible graphics and the 60000 results I get trying to narrow down the single destroyer in system.

Thumbs up for messing the thing 1 thing up i was mostly looking forward to.

The new probe sphere is awful. It is very, very difficult to see the probe boxes/arrows, especially when probes overlap each other a lot. The new texture is pretty, but maybe it could be made more translucent so it doesn't get in the way.

Also, I want my old tower shield back. It was all shiny and neat looking, and all random-like. The new one... Not so much. It's kind of boring, actually.

I have noticed that the market is MUCH more responsive (I work a lot in Dodixie), which is fantastic. Good job. I'm a very happy margin trader now! Very Happy

My personal opinion? I hate it, absolutely without question hate how CCP changed it..
The ship became pure junk.

Just checked out the probing graphics, and I agree with everyone else: terrible. Drop the eye candy and keep it usable.

One more thing:

When will the kitsune see the 30% ECM bonus like all other T2 ECM boats got? With the nerf to signal distortion amps, it lost a fair amount of its potential strength. IMO it should be granted a resistance boost as well, rather than its range boost, but in exchange lose all turret/launcher hardpoints; this would solidify its role is a superpowered ECM drone.

Agree with all the comments on the new probing graphics. They make it very difficult to see the positioning handle thingies and the probing 'animation' is giving me a headache after only 20 minutes or so.

The filters work sometimes and don't work other times...

Also I got 5 random (but real) 100% results way outside of the probes range. I had forgotten to bookmark my entry wormhole and noticed for the first time (is this new?) that the wormhole was marked on my map anyway. As I couldn't warp to the mark, I just dropped 4 probes at 1AU range around it and as expected got a bookmarkable and warpable result first time... Plus these 5 random other 100% hits that were well out of range of the probes. They were all bookmarkable and the one I warped 2 was a genuine hit that happened to be 22AU away from my 1AU range probes...

The capacitor cap stable reading, very nice touch and is helpfull

The Ship preview in market is nice

Minmatar Stations are too dark, I can't distinguish between my ship and the station background. I don't like how the lighting affects the station sidebar. Space if vibrant with color and then you dock...and it's depressing.

The Blue cargo bar, it's kind of unsightly and takes up more visual space which is always at a premium as it is. The ability to hide it and the search bar would be nice.

The Scanning probe spheres are atrocious. It is much more difficult to see when they are overlapped, and you have to reselect your target of interest every time you launch another probe
