Hello,

As many of you know the "classic" version of EVE will be removed with the coming of "Apocrypha." I've always used classic, seeing that my computer isn't necessarily focused on gaming. My question is, what will be the requirements for the next patch? If my computer doesn't meet these requirements, what happens? Am I just out of the game then? Are many other players experiencing this same issue?

Thanks,
kEat0n

or you could just upgrade your computer,

if your grapics card suports shader model 2, then you should be allright.

I would suggest moderate to extreme CPU power shall be required

Start button -> Settings -> Control Panel. Now in your CP window, double click the System icon. Click the Hardware tab then click Device Manager. Click the [+] next to "Display Adapters".

Now open up Google and do a search for your Display adapter, probably typing something like:

"Display adapter name" SM2 support

Do a little bit of reading, and you should be good to go.

*edit* This is actually in reply to you asking about your display device (video card).

apocrypha will have two flavors, classic is being replaced with the lite client which as i recall has the same requirements as the current classic client.

The main requirement is for videocard: it has to support SM 2.0. As for CPU requirements, they shouldn't differ much from the previous version. And to be honest, people usually overestimate the importance of CPU and have it significantly stronger than would be optimal for their other PC components.

Also it's a good thing to improve your PC performance by turning off unnecessary services, optimizing the registry, doing defragmentation (but not with windows built-in tool) and doing other stuff. Computer hardware has been my hobby for almost 7 years, software system optimizations - for several years. Reading different topics, I noticed that people often experience performance problems even having a high-end PC. So now I'm thinking of writing a guide on how to easily (just in a few hours) optimize a system to make it more suitable for games (and other applications as well, of course). But there are already various guides like this in the internet, so I'm not sure if it's a good idea to write another one here. Though it might be nice to have a concrete one with particular recommendations. How do you think - would this be topical?

Seems people liked the idea of having the guide I mentioned above. Going to start writing it in the near future. Smile
