I have been asking around of a possible revamp of the missile effect with the new expansion, but no one seems to know anything about it.

Are there any indications of missiles effects getting some love?

I know that currently, quite a few effects are using the old Trinity views on SiSi, but since all weapon systems (except for missiles) have now been changed, I can't help but wonder if CCP actually plans to do something about us Caldari fanbois/girls?

I think the new effects were on sigularity before some time ago they never put into the game, however they did add the missile plume of smoke from launchers a few patches ago. The muzzel flashes etc and beam effects are awsome, artilleries look amaising hope it makes this patch.

The current explosions aren't bad. The new effects on other weapons are amazing Smile
In fact, the main thing I notice about missiles graphically is that the model for all of them is basically just a grey cone.
But I doubt that'll change, not sure how many people "follow" their missiles on those boring missions ugh

Edit: Oh and one other thing I noticed in another thread were the sleeper NPCs using missiles I've never seen before. Perhaps we'll get access to some of those?

Ahem, not all of us see missiles only in missions...

Also, it would be truly disappointing, if they are indeed not planning on doing anything with the missiles effect.

As you said, it's just a gray cone, I mean, really, I can draw that on MS Paint...

tl;dr: it doesn't fit/scale at all to not modify missile effects (imo).

I just meant that they probably don't put much priority on it because it doesn't get seen often; but I completely agree with you.
I mean, if they looked like they do in the pictures... damn Shocked

youd need to remodel all the ships (or adjust) or something, adding visible launchers would take alot of work since the models are done as they are

would like to know when we can see our missile launcher bays on our ships first. I don't care if every ship needs to be re-designed (which is a BS excuse tbh) you can't just neglect the whole weapon system of missiles from the game

I think multiple launch points comes first and launcher models second, I think the effects overall are nice enough the boring part is just seeing one rocket each time and not a bunch of them.

The more missiles the better, make it 5 from each launcher hardpoint if its rockets and down to one each for torpedos. :D

Give us our visible missile bays! and effects revamp. We caldari have had our missiles nerfed and neglected for too long while the other empires grow fat and wealthy on CCP's precious love. I say no more. I will stand for this atrocity no longer!

from what I heard, the dev's are saying... Missiles will "not" make it for this release... but will make it for one of the patches after. I have not seen or heard anything about the explosions... i did ask about it in the same thread with the missiles but it was ignored or missed.

It does seem odd that the dev's are leaving the effects that need to be changed the most for last.. except for the sensor booster effect which made 95% of the eve base turn off effects. The missile effect is one of the worst effects in eve, aside from npc explosions.

Since its being left for last... I have high expectations for it! Missile trails(think BSG) would be awesome. ship explosions looking like the ones in the trailers, like the pos that was destroyed in the Apocrypha trailer.

Maybe im just dreaming but I trust CCP to bring us something awesome!

Many ships already have visible launcher ports, only need to use them.

New explosions would certainly not hurt. NPC explosions are really meh, even with the new cloud. I WANT PARTICLES!!! And delayed secondary explosions and and...debris!

This part, yes!
Having a whole volley traveling as a wave, instead of a single point of light would be awesome.
Multiple launch points would be cool, and then adding models for the launchers wouldn't be much of a stretch.

Once you have the multiple launch points tho, you don't need multiple warheads per shot, as the whole rate of fire thing takes care of that.
