Meh, it's ok.

Thing is, they'll never top Music for the Jilted Generation as that album was released at the perfect time to capture the mood of a nation. It saw them make the cross-over from the niche 'rave' scene to mainstream popular music. So if you were around at the time, for many '94 saw them at their peak.

Mind yew, they put on a pretty awesome show.

I agree with the point that it sounds a lot like Pendulum. But that is not totally a bad thing. I like the harder sound they have developed since Music for the Jilted Generation (which is my ultimate nostalgia album). Each of their albums is different enough to stand on it's own while still fitting into a clear sequence, if that makes sense. Better that than a progression of same-sounding stuff.

Totally agree, progression>repetition. Though they’ve gone from defining genres to now having comparable peers, some of whom seem to be more successful.

Don't wanna take anything away from them though, some of the best times I've ever had have been in a field, jumping around like a demented loon with these guys providing the soundtrack.

I thought exactly the same damn thing.

They've gone the same way, using similar note structure and are borrowing similar tonality.

Probably explains why everyone is going "OMGZ AWESOME".

I'm going to take one of these new songs, overdub it with the PenduSnare and typical beat that Pendulum use in EVERY SONG THEY MAKE, and see how similar it sounds to the choons from In Silico.

When I hear it, I'll **** brix.

I've only heard one track so far from the new album...

But it does sound like they're back in form again Smile

From my perspective "Experience" & "Jilted Generation" are two albums that will always remind me of my misspent youth, "Fat of the Land" was a bit meh though.

I'm with you on progression. And heh, Pendulum is a great band, so sounding a bit like them ain't all that bad. There's worse groups to be compared to.

Imeem has most of the tunes free if you look
Here

Still hoping for something that recaptures the magic of their first 3 albums, but it's still better than a lot of music out there.

Having listened to the whole album several times i will briefly sum up each song.

Invaders Must Die - Alot like pendulum, Good song.
Omen - Mix of Older Prodigy/Pendulum style.
Thunder - Prodigy, Nuff said.
Colours - Ultimately, Its prodigy, good beat to it.
Take me to the Hospital - Trippin Prodigy Beats, Might be mistaken for Pendulum but a Prod fan knows its definatly their work.
Warriors Dance - Extremely trippy... Has Prodigy written all over it.
Run with the wolves - IMO This is prodigy doing what they do best. Mixing good rhythm with beats and good vocals to boot. Easily my favourite song on the Album.
Omen Reprise - Probably just a filler track, very small yet nice beat to it. Defiantly prodigy.
Worlds on Fire - Prodigy and Nothing else.
Piranha - Sounds a bit influenced by some Pendulum beats, but classic Prodigy vocals.
Stand Up - Very, very classic. Prodigy adopting some new/underused techniques?.

Overall take what i say with a pinch of salt, The first few songs on the album are definitely good stuff, Seems prodigy is back on form and ready to shake things up some more.

Chase & Status ftw.
I'll need to grab that remix.

My favorite track of this album is "Stand up".
All other tracks will fade, but this one is unique.
