I have not once seen Concord act without a reason. So what was fitted on your ship, including drones, and was anyone else around?

Few thoughts;

First of all, fitting an ECM 'booster' to counter gurista/npc jamming doesn't work, and it's also my main candidate for your problem. Are you SURE it's not an ECCM projector (which is used to boost someone else's sensor str), cause if you activated it on a rat you were helping a 'criminal' resulting in your death.

secondly; if you turned off the message previously you won't get it now. so the 'I didn't get a warning' is in most cases just you having turned off the warning.

thirdly; did you have any smart bombs fitted? Also your log is rather short and kinda leaves out what happened BEFORE, all i see is rats doing damage but where's YOUR damage in that log? So post the previous stuff as well.

If it's still unknown either post your killmail or mail it to me so I can check what you had fitted which caused the problem.

I'm sorry to say that you did something wrong - CONCORD don't just vaporise people, it's always because the target has done something wrong.

Either you:

1) Smartbombed a cloaked player, wreck owned by someone else, friendly structure.
2) Conferred a positive effect on one of the Guristas ships you were shooting.

The fact it says you "initiated combat" makes it sound like you smartbombed or otherwise shot something you weren't allowed to, but I'm not sure if that's a generic message you get even if you rep a criminal, etc.

This ecm thing you had on was likely remote eccm designed to remotely counter ECM on a friendly ship, and you activated it on that pirate, wich counts as aiding a criminal.

Also NEVER, EVER activate remote-anything to help anyone but the people you know and trust your ships life with, it can be abused causing your ship go pop.

Seconded, I expect this was Projected ECCM which would cause you to get CONCORDed if you activate it with an NPC rat targeted. (It's a friendly assistance module, and assisting rats gets you a global criminal flag.)

Could 'ECM Booster' be an ECM Burst? If so, setting this off in high sec could have hit a neutral......which is offensive EWAR and would warrant a visit from Concord.

ECM Burst is an area of effect weapon like a (not-so-)smart-bomb......there is no warning message, it just hits everything within range.

My bet is it's an ECM Burst.

This is wrong. There is a warning message, if you didn't check the warning box never show again box.

If you post the kill mail either here or on somewhere like battleclinic and link it we can see for sure. You will find it in your combat log, under 'My Character' right click it for the mail text.

Actually you are correct - I was up in Empire this evening and checked. I had it wrong.

I still think ECM Booster and ECM Burst are the closest match though........maybe warnings were turned off.

Make sure to check the stats of the item you purchase...lots of them have very similar names and do very different things.

Aye, checking your lossmail for the exact name of the ECM module would helps us alot. I, as well as most in this thread, think that it's the bad boy in this thing. Post the lossmail and we'll see if we're right.

Yup, best guess is you used an ECCM projector on the bad guys, thus aiding them and triggering CONCORDOKKEN!

Just an update on this topic, Concord sent me a mail saying they made a mistake and didn't mean to shoot me and that they found my ship in space and returned it to my hanger.. (bastards left mud on my shag carpet) so i guess they do make mistakes..

Thanks guys for all the enthusiastic help i thought for sure it was might fault also but they took all the blame
