Nothing's wrong with mechanics. If you're super paranoid now and don't want this to happen to you then don't give director rights to anyone in executor corp. Problem solved.
Directors are just as powerful as CEOs, don't give it to someone unless you trust them with the keys to the corp, or the alliance as the case is with BoB.
Take the time and set up roles for your directors to let them do what they need to without risking your corp. |

Put that up to management. Or even corporation level (ie EVE). Vice President in charge of nuggets sells out to BK. Gives up the secret sauce recipe because he's best friends with the sauce guy, helps make it secret sometimes too.
THAT is a more real world example than congress disbanding apart LOL
Please do us a favor and never, ever attempt to make real world comparisons again. I just about broke my desk from the sheer amount of times I slammed my forehead into it from that atrocious attempt at making a point.
Not saying comparing BoB to the United States of America is much better, but... just wow.
Kids, it could happen to anyone, corporate espionage happens. Give enough power to a single person, and who knows what the hell could happen. There's no such thing as completely safe.
And you seemed to fail to comprehend the absurdity of the comparison I made. I said the same damn thing to the dude making the USA comparison. Because you know, there really is a VP in charge of nuggets and one for special sauce. You know that right? They are real people?? Please. Learn to read between the lines. |

I like this thread and how people quickly forgot that BoB used the same "dity tactics" to offline an entire system.
Well karma is one ugly ***** ehh? |

In EVE there are no safeguards against ONE well placed player in a huge alliance going loopy and destroying said alliance. I consider that broken. |

Treachery is a tactic, betrayal is a strategy. You only have an argument to make if you accept your assumption that there is only one way to fight. Usually its the loser of a given conflict who makes that argument. Besides, is that what you want? A game with only one way to win? If thats the case, get rid of the market and crafting and skill training. Just give everyone the same ship and weapons and let them pvp non-stop. Originally by: Kiyamoh I just hope we won't be looking back fondly in the near future thinking "BOB's downfall was the end of Eve".
Hahaha! Melodrama much? A highly dynamic and unpredictable environment is the kind of thing that makes games better. The irony of course is how obvious it is that that is exactly what you hope. Originally by: Kiyamoh I suspect there's not gonna be any epic fights coz there's now an all-powerful Goonswarm.
Isn't that how Goons got started, to combat BOB when they were all-powerful? The events today, starting from when they started prove you're wrong. Good or bad, someone will want what Goons have and there will be battles. |

I could not help but smile whenever I pass a Goon pilot shouting "we won eve! we won eve!".
it doesnt matter how, the effect is the same. it was a big change in EvE dynamics, at least temporarily. its a game, of course they are running around yelling in the street and getting drunk. its a game. you are taking it way too seriously enjoy the drama and intrigue that make EvE so unique but dont forget its a game /ffs |

As the saying goes.
This has all happend before. This will all happen Agian.
If you look through eve history you will see this to be very true. Hell Human history period. We are in a perpetual cycle that will not end untill we... Best way to say it is "Grow up". Untill that day comes I dont ever see things like this ending just restarting with new names places and people. |
